"Lukoil"

The history of the enterprise begins in 1991, when the state concern "LangepasUrayKogalymneft" was established, later renamed into "Lukoil". In 1994, the enterprise was privatized, as a result of which Vagit Alekperov became its largest shareholder.

The company's field of activity is the extraction, exploration, processing and sale of natural gas and oil.

Other oil and gas companies in Russia are largely indebted to Lukoil, as it has become a pioneer in this field. The first steps to the foreign market were made by Lukoil, and work is being done in more than 20 countries. The company also participates in international projects for the extraction and exploration of commodity raw materials.

Now Lukoil is developing offshore fields in the Baltic, Barents and Caspian seas.

Surgutneftegaz

The company "Surgutneftegaz" is engaged in geological exploration, production, processing and sale of hydrocarbons. Oil and gas production is carried out in Western and Eastern Siberia.

"Tatneft"

Russia's oil and gas companies are mostly not tied to any region, but not Tatneft. It is in close cooperation with the government of the Republic of Tatarstan. Moreover, a large state-owned enterprise, Svyazinvestneftekhim, owns almost a third of Tatneft's shares. The Republican government has a so-called golden share of the company, which allows us to impose the right of veto on all important issues. The head of the board of directors is also part-time president of the republic.

The enterprise makes regular tax deductions to the republican budget. Also, in addition to its main activity, the company produces automobile tires, and in 2012 built its own oil refinery. Tatarstan is the main region of exploration and production of oil and gas fields.

"Gazprom"

The enterprise was created back in Soviet times - in 1989. It was formed as a result of the transformation of the Ministry of the gas industry of the Soviet Union into the state concern Gazprom. In 1993, the company was renamed into OAO RAO Gazprom, and subsequently became a public company.

The main field of activity is the extraction, transportation and distribution of gas raw materials.

Other oil and gas companies in Russia and the world do not have such a large pipeline system. Its length is 160 thousand kilometers.

Rosneft

Rosneft was founded in the post-Soviet period in 1993 as a state-owned company specializing in the extraction and processing of black gold. It included about 300 companies that existed before 1991.

In the first years of their work in the leadership of Rosneft several times the leaders changed. Low level of production and depleted natural resources caused a reduction in sales of petroleum products.

Since 1998, a new period in the history of the enterprise begins. At this time, Bogdanchikov becomes the leader, who managed to make the enterprise profitable in 2 years.

In 2000, the development of new deposits begins: in 2002 - the Kaigansko-Vasyuganskoye, in 2003 - the Veninskoye, the Timano-Pechora. Work began to be carried out in Eastern Siberia, Kazakhstan, Algeria. Other Russian oil and gas companies do not cover such a large area of field development. Rosneft also has 4 own terminals for the export of raw materials.

Large oil and gas companies in Russia are now in an economically difficult situation. On the one hand, oil production has to increase, while natural gas production is steadily declining. The reason for this is the decrease in demand for gas and an increase in oil in the domestic and international markets.
