Who is a cynic - a problem or a solution?

"Who is a cynic?" - you ask. As Lillian Hellman, a famous American writer, survived both wars: "Cynicism is an unpleasant way to tell the truth." I did not just mention the fact that this woman experienced not the best periods of human development.

Who is a cynic - a child or a curse of society?

Cynics are not born, they become, when modern customs and traditions begin to harm common sense, when a person is disappointed in the current authorities, social mechanisms. If he is smart enough and dare, he will wake up, see everything from a slightly higher position than before. The rest, unfortunately, either continue to blindly follow what they are accustomed to trust, or they will be afraid to be misunderstood by the society. Each "convert" will acquire such a useful property as critical thinking, the ability to evaluate, think and express out loud everything that is not accepted, everything that ordinary people think about when they are left alone with themselves.

A cynic is a realist who despises optimism and pessimism, he takes everything as is and can not rejoice or be sad about something useless. He does not care about the death of people, there are too many of them. He does not care about the death of children, because they are only offspring, who did not see and did not reach anything, an empty vessel, which, most likely, will remain empty. If he had to choose between the death of his child and the death of an outstanding scientist, he would without hesitation have sacrificed a child. "What is cynicism?" - you ask. This is just one of many labels hanging on a man with "unconventional" views. You will never hear from him the phrase "I'm a cynic," such a person will consider his behavior to be the norm, since the behavior of the majority will most often contradict ordinary logic because of limitations in the form of norms of morality and generally accepted ideology.

Who is a cynic, and what is he like?

He is devoid of many feelings, inherent in other people, he does not have sentimentality, because he dulls, he does not feel envy, because he evaluates everything objectively, that is, the brain, and not the heart. He is not religious, but believes that the biblical character Jesus Christ is his brother in cynicism. Jesus unites people with the same views. For example, in order to exist good, it is necessary evil, that there was a God, Satan is necessary, that Heaven was, Hell is necessary. If you think that the opinion of cynics has no right to exist, consider what our world would be like without such creators as Schopenhauer, Voltaire, Nietzsche, Dostoevsky, Nabokov, Jack London. And this list can be continued.

Who are the intolerable cynics?

Do not forget about the reverse side of the coin: the person-cynic is difficult to live. Seeing everyone through, saying aloud uncomfortable truth, encountering resistance in the face of the majority, you can lose the ability to adequately critical thinking and begin to believe in what you want to believe. Charles Isavi (a professor at Princeton University) described these people as unbearable cynics: the cynic is right in nine cases out of ten, but he is convinced that he is right in all ten cases, and this is what makes him unbearable.

If during the reading of the article you felt that you read something wrong, what you can not see people, something that you do not agree with, congratulations. Now you know who the cynic is.
