Chicken hearts: calorie, benefit, harm

The benefits of subproducts have long been controversial. Their opponents claim that they are able to accumulate lead, mercury, cadmium and other heavy metals that adversely affect human health. However, proponents of an inexpensive way of cooking argue that by-products contain such vitamins and nutrients that no other meat part of the animal has.

Chicken meat is undeniably the most low-fat, and the energy value of its viscera is even smaller. For this reason dishes from offal have extensive use in dietary cuisine. For example, compared to a boiled chicken (204 kcal), the caloricity of chicken hearts (stewed) is much lower, and is only 158.9 kCal.

Chicken hearts have a miniature shape, so in any dish they are added entirely. They can be boiled, fried, cooked soups, snacks and excellent basic dishes. The most useful are stewed chicken hearts, whose calorie content is much less than fried. Prepare a delicious dish from such a product is not difficult. To do this you will need a half a kilo of chicken hearts, 100 grams of grated cheese, chopped onion, garlic cloves, 3 tablespoons of sour cream and greens. On sunflower oil, it is necessary to fry the onion until golden brown, then add raw hearts to it. Next, you need to make a dressing of cheese, greens and sour cream. Add spices to taste. Once the hearts are almost ready, extinguish them, fill the sauce with sour cream and cheese.

The influence of other foods on the calorie content of the dish

If you include dietary products in your diet, pay attention to other ingredients that are used in the dish. The presence of foreign additives will affect the hearts of chicken (stewed). Caloric content of the dish will depend on the spices and sauces added during cooking. Nutritionists are advised to use less fatty supplements or do without them at all. For example, 100 grams of the most lean sour cream (10%) contains 115 kcal, and the energy value of sour cream 20%, 25% and 30% is 210, 284 and 340 kcal, respectively. The top three low-calorie cheeses are dolomino (61 kcal), white cheese (100 kcal) and yellow fat (260 kcal). Depending on the increase in calories by 100 grams, elite sorts of cheese can be arranged in the following order: lambers (377 kcal), roquefort (369 kcal), parmesan 45% fat (389 kcal), cheddar (392 kcal), emmental 45% (420 Kcal). Caloric content of Dutch cheese, which is most common in cooking, is 352 kcal per 100 grams. At will, you can exclude from the dish any additives and dispense with only sunflower oil.

Benefits of chicken hearts for the body

If you eat a few times a week chicken hearts, the caloric value of your dinner will be minimized. Do not forget that this product has a beneficial effect on the body as a whole. Thus, the chicken heart contains vitamins B1, B2, B6, PP, as well as some useful elements: phosphorus, iron, zinc, copper, chromium and cobalt. Thus, chicken hearts will not only help in the fight against excess weight, but also fill the body with missing useful elements.
