Bleeding from the nose

Bleeding from the nose - the exit of blood from the vascular bed into the surrounding tissues. If it leaves the external environment, bleeding is called external. If the blood is poured into the body cavity of a person, it impregnates surrounding tissues, it is called internal. In everyday life, this phenomenon occurs often enough, so it usually does not pay much attention to it. However, both internal and external bleeding may become a health hazard. The causes of this condition are diverse and not always related to external influences.

Bleeding from the nose in a child or adult can occur in the event of rupture or destruction of the vascular wall, which is the result of injuries or various diseases. The intensity of such conditions directly depends on the damaging factors or the localization of the pathological focus. The development of bleeding can provoke an increase in the permeability of the vascular wall or a change in blood composition (increase in viscosity, pressure). These conditions are a consequence of severe diseases that occur mainly in the adult population.

The most common cause that causes bleeding from the nose is damage to the Kisselbach meta vessels (anterior part of the nasal septum). Here there is a fairly dense network of small capillaries and arterioles. Violation of the integrity of the vessels occurs with injuries, with coarse smocking, inaccurate removal of crusts, scratching of the nose. This bleeding poses no danger to health. It is characterized by low intensity, it usually stops on its own.

Bleeding from the nose has a severe course with damage to the vessels of the posterior and upper parts of the nasal cavity. This is due to the large volume of arteries and veins, which, if damaged, do not subside. Bleeding therefore becomes abundant in nature and causes serious damage to health. Sometimes their outcome can be the death of a patient. The manifestation of this condition is sometimes vomiting with impurities of blood, which is formed by swallowing the contents of the nasal cavity from the nose.

Common diseases of the body can also affect the appearance of this pathological condition. An example is an increase in blood pressure, which occurs with hypertension, heart disease and kidney disease. Bleeding from the nose in such cases is accompanied by noise in the ears, headache, dizziness.

Other diseases that lead to the appearance of such conditions:

Beriberi,

atherosclerosis,

Tumor processes developing in the nasal cavity,

pregnancy,

Excessive physical activity.

Bleeding from a nose at the teenager does not differ from that at other groups of the population. Its outcome determines the duration. Symptoms of prolonged blood loss are flies before the eyes, dizziness, pallor of the mucous membranes and skin, cold sweat, frequent and weak pulse, loss of consciousness. This situation requires immediate medical attention.

The first aid in bleeding is to give the victim a semi-sitting position, tipping his head to reduce the intensity of the process. If there is blood in the pharynx, it should be spit. If you lose consciousness, you need urgent hospitalization. In other cases, an ice bubble is used, which is applied to the region of the bridge of the nose. It is also possible to use a cloth that is pre-wetted with cold water. Stop minor bleeding is possible by pressing the wings of the nose to the septum, which hold until the symptoms of the pathological condition cease completely. At high intensity of the process, a turunda of cotton wool is introduced into the nasal inlet, which is pre-wetted with a solution of hydrogen peroxide.
