Cervical osteochondrosis symptoms, treatment.

Osteochondrosis is a terrible disease of the spine, which in recent years has become very widespread not only among adults, but also among young people. Appearing for the first time, the first harbingers (unpleasant heaviness and pain in the spine), which quickly pass by themselves, do not cause much concern for the patient. However, when such symptoms appear, you should immediately go to the doctor immediately, as in the future, if you do not start treatment, osteochondrosis quickly progresses, and you will not even notice before you can not get up in the morning from bed. In addition, this insidious disease leads to very disappointing consequences and can involve other systems and organs (cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous systems, etc.) in the pathological process.

Osteochondrosis is divided into: cervical, thoracic, lumbar and combined (involving several spine sections in the process).

The most common among the population is cervical osteochondrosis, since the disease often begins with the defeat of the cervical vertebrae.

How does the disease develop?

Osteochondrosis develops on the background of dehydration and ossification of the cartilaginous tissue (intervertebral discs), which become less mobile, less elastic and cease to perform their functions (depreciation during movements and displacement of the spine). Over time, trophic (food) cartilage is disrupted, they become thinner, and nerve endings can be infringed (all known radiculitis is a consequence of osteochondrosis of the lumbar spine).

Cervical osteochondrosis symptoms.

As already mentioned above, the first precursors of the onset of the disease are unpleasant sensations and heaviness in the cervical region, headaches, fatigue and fatigue, reduced visual acuity, throbbing pain in the neck , etc. Already at this stage, cervical osteochondrosis whose symptoms abruptly appear and pass by themselves, one must begin to actively treat and prevent further spread of the disease.

With an untreated disease, cervical osteochondrosis is aggravated by symptoms , weakness in the hands, pain "shooting", stitching in the neck, pain in the heart, which can spread to the upper limbs. With further deterioration of cervical osteochondrosis, symptoms can change when lower parts of the spine are involved, dizziness, dizziness, difficulty in moving.

Treatment.

They treat osteochondrosis both physiotherapeutically and medically.

Medicamentous treatment of osteochondrosis.

Mostly, pain relievers and anti-inflammatory drugs are used that belong to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These include: Diclofenac, Ibuprofen, Meloxicam, Dicloberte. They can be applied either through the mouth or intramuscularly with acute pain. They act quickly enough and relieve pain, but their effect is short-term, since it does not affect the cause of the disease, but only helps symptomatically. In addition, the tablet preparations have an undesirable side ulcerogenic effect (it is forbidden to take people with a stomach ulcer, gastritis).

There is also a local treatment, this ointment from osteochondrosis. Although all the currently existing ointments also do not affect the underlying cause of the disease, and therefore have a short-term positive effect.

Widely distributed such ointments: Fastum-gel, Voltaren, Finalgon, Revmagel, etc.

But the main treatment should still be considered physiotherapy, which are conducted during the inter-offensive period. In no case can you do massages and other procedures in the acute period of the disease.
