Beginning of biography

Dmitry Mednikov was born in Moscow in April 1980. His parents were journalists, so he decided to follow in their footsteps. After receiving secondary education, entered the Moscow State University at the Faculty of Journalism. He graduated in 2002.

Journalistic career

In parallel, he headed the editorial office of the sports channel "Russia 2", from 2012 to 2013 he was exclusively engaged in this work. At the head of VGTRK

At the end of 2009, he headed the department of digital technologies development of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, he was the director.

In parallel, Mednikov is working on television and film projects as a producer. Several of his films go to the big screen. "Dive" is a fascinating story about divers. People who all their lives seek to find something new and unusual in the mysterious underwater world. The protagonist Igor is a classic black digger. He is a romantic and adventurer, always looking for new thrills, strives to experience something unusual and unique. Together with his brother, he goes in search of an abandoned quarry, in which, according to the stories, a hiding place is located. In it, they expect to find traces of an ancient abandoned settlement.

To their great surprise and, of course, joy, they quickly discover this quarry. Almost immediately they begin to prepare for the first dive. However, they are in for a terrible and unexpected surprise. Under the water is a mysterious anomalous zone.

"Calculator"

The most loud production project Mednikova was a fantastic film "The calculator", which was directed by Dmitry Grachev.

Actions of the picture unfold in the future on a distant planet, where people settled. This is a very harsh and inhospitable environment, but it is not necessary to choose. People live in colonies on scraps of land reclaimed from the surrounding marshes. In this state, totalitarianism reigns. At the same time, the death penalty is banned on the planet. Therefore, prisoners who are found guilty of serious crimes are sentenced to exile. It actually replaces the death penalty in this world. The chance to survive is, but it's fantastically small.

At the very beginning of the film, another consignment of prisoners is planted on the Sargasso bog. There is no food, no water, no people. Only occasionally can you find small groups of prisoners who managed to survive, but as a result they turned into half-animals. In other conditions, in this situation.

At the same time among the prisoners there is a legend about the Happy Islands, on which there is everything for an auspicious life. However, it is not easy to get to them, and not everyone is sure that they exist at all. The main characters Ervin, nicknamed the Calculator (Eugene Mironov), and Christie (Anna Chipovskaya) are sent to these islands.

The rest of the prisoners, led by an experienced bandit Just (Winnie Jones), go in the opposite direction, hoping to get to an abandoned prison, where there is at least some chance of surviving in the marshes.

However, at first their way often intersects. Intrigue adds that Erwin Calculator before his arrest held a very high post in the state. Therefore, he is sure that the government decides not to hope that he himself will perish in the swamps, but he will do it for sure - he himself organizes his murder.

The failure of the "Calculator"

The film was released on screens in 2014 and failed miserably at the box office. The All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, which, together with Art Pictures Studio, was engaged in its production, acknowledged failure.

The budget picture was more than two million dollars. The profit from the cinemas was less than 50 million rubles.

In this blockbuster defeated almost all domestic and foreign film critics. At best, it was rated as average and not outstanding. Internet publications "Pravda.ru" and "Film.ru" and did release a devastating review.

The most important claim that the audience presented to the film was that it was simply boring. In addition, the installation and quality of special effects, on which they obviously saved, were questionable.

The only ones who deserved positive feedback are the actors Yevgeny Mironov and Anna Chipovskaya, who really worked fruitfully on their images.

The most acrid film critics compared it to the episode of a low-grade TV show of the mid-1980s, noting a large number of cliches, a general plot that was falling apart due to a heap of discrepancies.

"Apperkot for Hitler"

After such a serious setback, Mednikov soon returned to major producer projects. In 2016 he and director Denis Neimand removed the historical drama drama "Uppercott for Hitler". The main roles in it are performed by Anton Momot and Polina Tolstun.

The script of the picture is based on real events. The narration tells about the secret operation of Soviet scouts during the Great Patriotic War to organize the assassination of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

The protagonist Igor Miklashevsky goes to Germany under the guise of a deserter who decided to go over to the side of the Fuhrer. The Germans, of course, treat him with distrust. Therefore, the scout has to endure torture and many hours of interrogation. Only after this, he is recruited into the German army. He is adjutant to SS Standartenfuhrer Walter Schloss, known for his passion for gambling.

The lyric line adds piquancy to the picture. Miklashevsky falls in love with the French connected Russian origin - Nastya Shuvalov. In many ways, thanks to her support, he manages to play the role of "his" behind the enemy's back. Over time, he gets to the top leadership of the Nazi party and to his main goal - Adolf Hitler.

Dmitry Mednikov, whose biography is closely connected with television, is actively engaged in public work. He is a member of the board of trustees of the "Russian Geographical Society" and the Moscow Region football club "Sparta" from Shchelkovo, performing in the Third Football Division.

In his spare time he is fond of chess, traveling, karate and shooting sports.
