When Stalin was born, and when - Joseph Dzhugashvili

For many decades the question of when Stalin was born had an unambiguous answer: "In 1879, December 21". And as for the place where the great dictator was born, it was not supposed to be different. Stalin's homeland is the Georgian city of Gori. Joseph Vissarionovich himself specified this date, and in 1949 the seventieth birthday of the leader of all nations was solemnly celebrated. However, some facts indicate that the year of birth in official sources is not entirely correct.

The discrepancies began already in 1921. Even then, between the 10th and 11th congresses of the RCP (B.), The party secretary was a very busy man. He looked modest among the members of the Leninist Guards who flashed with oratory. Kollontai, Zinoviev, Trotsky, Shlyapnikov and others, sparkling with eloquence, decided, as they thought, very important questions. Somebody fought against the "workers' opposition," others fervently supported her, and the gray "secretary" was preparing to become General. The post, at first glance, unenviable, but gave the opportunity to "concentrate immense power." And at this crucial moment, one of the deputies, filling in the questionnaire of Joseph Vissarionovich, wrote a figure of 44 in the column "age." The worker probably forgot when Stalin was born. It seems to be a trifle, a mistake, but she was personally corrected by the delegate of the congress at 42.

The book of records of the Gori cathedral contains information about the birth of December 6, 1878 in the Orthodox family of Ekaterina Gabrielovna and Vissarion Ivanovich Dzhugashvili son, christened on the 17th of the same month by Joseph. With the day the difference is small, according to the new style it's only three days. But what happened to the whole year of the baby's life, which was to become the ruler of the Soviet empire?

The question of when Stalin was born, in the twenties, it was not so scary to ask, even to himself. He was asked by official biographers, discovering a contradiction between the data in the metrics and personal questionnaires of the post-October period. The answer was not Stalin's vague. According to eyewitnesses, Joseph Vissarionovich smiled and said that they would write as they would like, and after all he could simply advise turning to documents, no matter how: composed with his own hand or metric records. Moreover, a copy of the extract from the church book was kept in the Central Archive of the RCP (B.).

Young Dzhugashvili IV graduated from the Goriyskoye School of Religion, this is evidenced by the entry in the archive of this institution together with the questionnaires of all graduates. Here, too, 1878 is indicated, and the date is written by the student with his own hand.

There is one more confirmation of the correctness of this date. Its value lies in the fact that the document is not kept in Georgia or in Moscow, where historians searched for the artifacts they needed, but quite unexpectedly in Saratov. The fact is that the Most Reverend Hermogenes, who served from 1901 to 1903 in the county town of Volsk as vicar, was previously the rector of the theological seminary in Tiflis. He left behind a rich archive, in which there is one explanatory note. Its author is Dzhugashvili IV. And she proves that already in 1893, not in 1894, he entered the Tiflis Seminary.

So, in the official biography the information about when Stalin was born is distorted. The fact that this was done with the knowledge and, at the request of the secretary general, does not cause doubts. There is only one question left: why? After all, it was not the right person to do something for nothing.

The pseudo-historians of perestroika times, carrying out the social order and fabricating the image of the ignorant and stupid Stalin who killed the true Bolshevik-Leninists for their own pleasure, did not break their heads for a long time. It seemed to them that one of the greatest dictators of human history behaved like a whimsical lady at a critical age, and tried to look younger. Another explanation was that this act was an ordinary petty scam. It is difficult to agree, Stalin played only with large stakes.

In fact, the origin of the date of December 9, 1879 is explained simply. Soviet documents after the October coup were issued on the basis of a passport with a double-headed eagle on the cover. He was falsified by Stalin, as well as in many underground organizations, and 1879 was born in him. His surname was many, but it was this that reflected, as it seemed to him, the essence of the inflexibility of the revolutionary will. Most likely, he just liked him, and he, having ceased to be Dzhugashvili, turned into Stalin, who himself, according to well-known people, called him "he" in the third person. Joseph Vissarionovich adopted a new image, part of which was the date of birth.
