How to create your own beautiful floral pattern

A beautiful floral pattern is always in fashion! If you look around, you can see that the ornaments of flowers surround us everywhere: on women's clothing and various household items, on postcards, in illustrations of books and logos, in advertising.

And recently it has become very popular to apply elegant floral compositions on the nails. In general, someone who knows how to create original and unique drawings, consisting of floral patterns, never without work will not remain. In this article we will talk about how to learn to create such beauty.

Where to draw ideas for creativity

It would seem that everything is simple: use what others have thought up and do not break your head. It is enough to look at the beautiful floral patterns that others have come up with and use thousands of ready-made magnificent motifs. So it is so, but to take someone else's is somehow not good. It is best to thoroughly rework other people's ideas, adding something to them.

But the best, if you can interact with nature in your work. Try in the summer to bring home a bouquet of ordinary field chamomiles with bells and make a series of sketches from nature. You will see an infinite number of motifs and will be able to develop your own author's floral pattern, but not one, but many.

How to start drawing

The beginning should always be simple, especially if you do not yet have experience in drawing. Make a pencil sketch of one flower, carefully drawing all the petals, leaves, stem. See what beautiful smooth lines create the contour of the plant.

In this initial graphic outline, there should be as much detail as possible. When you create a floral pattern, this is very useful. And while you, drawing, studying a flower, admiring them, he will gradually share with you the secrets of his beauty. Try not to press hard on the pencil, draw with lightly barely noticeable strokes. At this stage of work, finely honed hard pencils are best suited - they do not give thick lines, and inaccuracies and blots can easily be erased by an eraser. At the final stage of drawing, you can circle all lines with a brighter, soft pencil. Shadows can be shaded, and the bright places can be left untouched.

Next stage

Now you have a naturally executed sketch, but how to create a floral pattern on its basis? The fact is that the image you have is to be stylized, simplified, flattened, and then divided into parts, from which you can then fold the original ornament. The flower can and should be disassembled as large fragments (part of the stem, petals, leaves), and on very small ones, for example, a jagged edge of a leaf or a beautifully curved stamen.

Let's start creating a pattern

Well, now comes the moment of this delightful creativity - the design of floral patterns. Yes, that's right, in the plural. Because if you are responsible and diligently carried out the previous part of the work, then the prepared material will suffice for a lot of plant motifs.

Another important point: you need to determine whether a black and white floral pattern you need or color, asymmetric or symmetrical. If your goal is a fantasy free vegetable motif that is not tied to symmetry, this simplifies the matter. Otherwise draw on the paper an auxiliary grid that will help to arrange the elements of the ornament in the given strict order. Of course, it is best to begin with asymmetrical patterns.

After creating the composition, you can start painting it in different colors. Do not take a lot of shades at once, it's better to limit to two or three, otherwise it will be difficult for you to create a color harmony. It would be nice to scan your drawing and further processing on the computer in the programs "Photoshop" or "Illustrator", but that's another story ...
