What is the knee joint Becker cyst?

The knee joint cyst is a benign tumor, located, as the name implies, in the knee joint. It is designed in such a way that under the knee between the tendons there is a so-called interstitial bag, that is, a cavity. Due to excessive physical exertion, trauma or an unsuccessful operation in the joint, the inflammatory process begins to develop. As a rule, this leads to the accumulation of articular fluid in the above bag. It is its presence that explains the bulge that appears on the back of the foot just below the knee. This is the Becker knee cyst.

Symptomatics

At first, the cyst does not appear. Often a person does not even suspect about her presence and learns about it during a routine examination with a doctor. However, the lack of proper treatment leads to the fact that the fluid becomes more and more, it begins to press on the nerve endings, which provokes constant pain. As a result, many patients even begin to experience difficulties when walking.

Becker Knee Cyst: Treatment

In modern medicine, there are three ways by which you can get rid of the tumor. These include medication, surgery and folk remedies. True, many doctors claim that the latter option has no right to exist, but this is refuted by the opinions of the patients themselves.

On the other hand, it should be noted that the knee cyst of Becker is not too well treatable with drugs. Therefore, such therapy is usually prescribed at the earliest stages, or even after surgery - as a support. Most of the remedies relieve inflammation and remove the pain syndrome, but there is no guarantee that education will not occur again after a while. All kinds of pills, ointments, compresses, physiotherapy - all this is considered only temporary measures, delaying surgical intervention.

Operation

If the doctor finds that you have a knee cyst of Becker, he can prescribe a puncture. With the help of a special thick needle, the entire fluid is pumped out of the interstitial bag. Then steroid drugs are injected into the cavity to help relieve inflammation. In general, this method is very effective, but there is still the possibility that the space under the knee will be filled with liquid again. That is why most doctors advise to immediately decide on the removal of the cyst. It is not necessary to be afraid of the operation, it is quite uncomplicated and lasts about twenty minutes. Under local anesthesia, you will cut out the cyst and sew the area of its neck. Sutures are removed after about a week.

ethnoscience

Many patients claim that you can get rid of the cyst in the initial stage by means of a golden mustache. You will need a lot of it, more precisely, two 3-liter cans. Fill them with the stems and leaves of the plant, pour vodka and insist for three weeks. From the resulting tincture you need to do compresses and apply them to a sore spot. In addition, the medicine can be taken orally - a couple of sips a day. It is believed that such a drug will stop the inflammatory process. Of course, it is far from as reliable as the more traditional methods of treatment, so we recommend that you still see a doctor. If you are not sure that you really have a Becker knee cyst, you can see a photo of it in this article or special reference books on medicine.
