Chronic pancreatitis: a diet with exacerbation and after

This disease is defined as a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs in the pancreas. This disease most often affects adult men, but sometimes it occurs in women and even in children. Pancreatitis develops due to the fact that the pancreas ceases to produce and secrete enzymes and hormones necessary for the body. Because of this insufficiency, there is a violation of digestive processes. The disease occurs in two regimes: exacerbation and remission.

Causes of pathology

Most often, the disease is found in people who:

  • Often they consume alcoholic beverages. More than 50% of men suffering from pancreatitis have abused hot drinks;
  • Suffer from cholecystitis and dyskinesia (bile duct disease). Such ailments are most characteristic of "female" pancreatitis.
  • Do not adhere to a balanced diet (the diet contains a lot of fatty and spicy food);
  • Suffer from hereditary predisposition (congenital metabolic disorder);
  • For a long time they took toxic medication or antibiotics (for example, tetracycline or furosemide);
  • Suffer from high levels of fat in the blood.

Also, this disease can develop against a backdrop of gallbladder inflammation, stomach ulcers and venous congestion.

How is the disease manifested?

In the event of chronic pancreatitis, patients suffer from:

  • Moderately pressing or burning pain in the left side, which gives in the back.
  • Increased salivation, nausea, vomiting, bloating and diarrhea.
  • Sharp weight loss.
  • Dry skin and brittle nails.
  • Endocrine insufficiency.
  • Increased gas generation.

Period of exacerbation of the disease

The patient begins to experience all the symptoms of acute pancreatitis. During this period the patient suffers from severe shingles in the abdomen. In this case, many complain of pain in the lower ribs and shoulder blades.

After 1-3 days the pain gradually subsides and completely disappears in a week.

The main sign of an exacerbation is frequent vomiting. Also during this period, tachycardia may occur periodically, which is manifested due to intoxication of the body.

To get rid of unpleasant symptoms (in the treatment and exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis), diet and rejection of certain products is recommended first. The fact is that in this period absolutely any stimulus can lead to even stronger pain sensations. Therefore, you need to carefully monitor your diet.

Diet with exacerbation

In the period of acute manifestation of pancreatitis it is necessary to ensure the body (pancreas in particular) rest.

The first 3 days are recommended to abstain from any food. You can drink only alkaline water (for example, "Glade Kvasova"). If the patient begins to experience dizziness, then maintain the body in a tone can be due to the internal injection of glucose solution.

After 3 days with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, the diet can be expanded by including in the diet cooked or steamed food. Eating too hot or cold dishes is prohibited. Take food in very small portions 6 times a day. At the same time, it is better to grate all the products on a grater or chew them very carefully.

On the 6th-7th day of the diet with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, you can begin to drink weak tea and broth of dogrose. It is also recommended to cook mashed potatoes on water, fish (low-fat varieties), chicken and veal. All meat is cooked for a couple. In addition, you can afford bread crumbs, cooked in an oven without spices. In the diet it is allowed to include porridges (all but millet), jelly, kefir and liquid soups.

On the 8th-9th day with chronic pancreatitis during the exacerbation of the diet can be expanded by adding a puree of carrots and a protein omelette in the menu . However, it is worth considering that milk in pure form is not recommended to drink. As a dessert, you can make a baked apple or simply grate it on a grater.

Before making a menu, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Also, the diet in the stage of exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis may include the following products:

  • pasta;
  • Vegetable oil;
  • Vegetable soups and mashed potatoes;
  • Egg whites;
  • Baked and boiled fruits (must be peeled);
  • Non-acid compotes;
  • Freshly squeezed juice, diluted in half with boiled water;
  • Ground dried fruits.

When the first "wave" of exacerbation subsides, you can include more hearty meals in a diet with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.

Potato balls with chicken

For preparation it is required:

  1. Boil the chicken breast, cool it and let it through a meat grinder or blender.
  2. Grind 1 carrot, onion and add the resulting gruel to the chicken.
  3. Boil the mashed potatoes. You can add quite a bit of milk.
  4. Roll the mashed potatoes on the table and divide it into mugs (as in the preparation of baking from dough), in each of which you need to put in some minced meat.
  5. Blind balls and lay their freezer for 35 minutes.
  6. After they harden, you need to place them in a steamer or in a preheated oven up to 220 degrees. If an oven is used, the pan can be oiled with a small amount of vegetable oil.
  7. Wait 10-15 minutes.
  8. Remove the baked balls and sprinkle them with herbs.

Also, during a diet with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis in adults, you can prepare a variety of side dishes. For example, on cereals.

Pearl garnish

This dish is prepared as follows:

  1. In pearl barley (polstakana) pour 0.5 liters of water, then cook porridge on low heat for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove excess water and add a little olive oil to the pearl barley.
  3. Allow the cereal to settle for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Finely chop the medium-sized onion and season it with a tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  5. Grate the carrots, finely chop the tomato and simmer the vegetables for about 10 minutes.
  6. Skip the pearl gruel through the blender.
  7. Add the vegetables and mix.
  8. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Homemade sausage

During a diet with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, you can prepare a delicious snack. For this you need:

  1. Chop the chicken breast (about 700 g) and grind it in a meat grinder.
  2. Add in minced protein 3, salt to taste and a little greens.
  3. Pour 300 ml of sour cream into the slurry and mix well.
  4. Lay out the forcemeat on the food film and roll the sausage.
  5. Boil the water in a large saucepan.
  6. Put the cooked sausage in a container and press it down with a small saucer.
  7. Cook on low heat for at least an hour.
  8. Remove the film and put sausage in the refrigerator.

Beef with vegetables

Another dish, which is recommended during a diet with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis and cholecystitis, is prepared as follows:

  1. Cut 500 g of raw beef into small pieces.
  2. Add salt to taste.
  3. Spread the bottom of the steam basket with vegetable oil.
  4. Lay the beef in a thin layer.
  5. Cook in a double boiler for at least an hour.
  6. Clean celery roots and parsley (1 piece each), rinse them in cold water and cut into small pieces.
  7. Dip 400 g of cauliflower for 2-3 minutes in salted water and disassemble it on the inflorescence.
  8. Lay all the vegetables on the meat and turn on the steamer for another 40 minutes.

What not to eat when exacerbated

During the diet and treatment of exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, you must completely abandon:

  • Pork, fat and lamb;
  • Beans, spinach, mushrooms, radish;
  • Eggs;
  • Bananas, dates, grapes and figs;
  • Oily and salted fish;
  • Chocolate, jam, ice cream;
  • Shop sausage, sausages, sausages;
  • Any baking;

  • Animal fat;
  • Smoked products and fried foods;
  • Peas, beans, lentils;
  • Hard cheeses;
  • White cabbage;
  • Pickled products;
  • Fatty sour cream and cream;
  • Fast food;
  • Mayonnaise and any sauces;
  • Fatty broths;
  • Cocoa, carbonated drinks and coffee.

Food should not be acute or sour. Any spices are forbidden.

In addition, it is worth saying a few words about alcoholic beverages.

Can I drink alcohol

Since the love of hot spirits is the most likely cause of chronic pancreatitis, it is necessary to completely exclude them from the diet. Any alcohol is toxic even for a healthy stomach. If a person suffers from pancreatitis, alcohol in any quantities will be rejected by the organs of the gastrointestinal tract. The fact is that, unlike the liver, there are no enzymes in the digestive tract that can split alcohol production.

If a person suffering from chronic pancreatitis drinks a lot of alcohol and spices it with a large portion of fried snack, then it is more likely that he will have an attack of exacerbation of the disease. So do not take chances. It is better to completely eliminate the intake of even low-alcohol beverages.

It is worth considering that after an exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, the diet does not stop, but lasts at least 1 year. This time is necessary for the digestive system to recover and begin to function normally. Therefore, you need to exclude any stress on the stomach.

If the patient neglects the recommendations of the doctor, then such attacks of exacerbation will begin to repeat with an enviable frequency. Therefore, it is better to buy a steamer, try to cook only useful food and completely eliminate all the food items listed above.
