The recipe for classic mimosa

Mimosa is a salad that we remember from childhood. He came to us from those times when the shortage of food did not allow our predecessors to prepare delicious dishes. But, nevertheless, this salad, which consists of simple ingredients sold in any store, is still very popular on our festive tables and simple home dinners. Some mistresses of the old school prepare him, because they have got used to him for many years, and he casts nostalgic thoughts. But, in fact, the mimosa also appeals to the new generation, which did not find the times of the "deficit". What is its secret? And the secret is in his tenderness and special taste.

The recipe for classic mimosa includes the following ingredients:

- 4 eggs

- one can of canned fish in oil (saury, pink salmon, mackerel)

- 100 g of hard cheese

- onion 1 pc.

- mayonnaise 1 pack.

- greens (for decoration)

Mimosa salad with cheese.

Eggs are hard boiled to make the yolk friable, but not digested, otherwise it will have a blue color. Chilled and cleaned eggs are divided into protein and yolk separately. We rub it on the grater and set it aside. Hard cheese is also rubbed on a large grater in a separate bowl.

Next, in another bowl, lay the fish out of the jar and knead it well with a fork.

Separately, cut finely onion (the smaller, the better).

And now we begin to lay this all on a dish in the form of a slide. Lay out the salad layers in a certain order, without stirring:

The first layer - grated egg whites, which we carefully put on a dish in the form of a circle;

The second layer - grated cheese (also laid out evenly on the boundaries);

All this is smeared with a thin layer of mayonnaise.

The third layer is the fish itself;

The fourth layer is laid onions, and also smeared with mayonnaise.

Then it is all abundantly sprinkled with grated egg yolk and decorated with a twig of green. Mimosa salad is ready. You only need to put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, so that all the layers are soaked with mayonnaise, and you can serve to the table.

Preparation of mimosa (recipe for classic mimosa) takes about 20 minutes, provided all ingredients are present. This is quite simple, but very tasty salad, which is suitable for a festive table, and for a family dinner.

I brought you one recipe of classic mimosa, but since this dish was invented by housewives in Soviet times, and no one knows its true origin, there are also a huge number of cooking options for it.

Here is another recipe for classic mimosa. Instead of cheese, boiled potatoes are used (2 pcs.) And boiled carrots (1 pc.) Are added. All other ingredients remain in place (eggs, fish, onions, mayonnaise).

Layers are stacked as follows:

The first layer - grated potatoes on a large grater. Spread also around.

The second layer is a mashed fish. Lubricate with a thin layer of mayonnaise.

The third layer is finely chopped onions.

The fourth layer is egg whites rubbed on a large grater. A layer of mayonnaise.

The fifth layer - grated carrot on a large grater. Also spread on top of the last layer of mayonnaise.

Top with sprinkled with yolk so that it can not see the deep layers and decorate with a twig of green. Just like in the previous recipe, you need to put it in the fridge for a while, so that all the layers are soaked with mayonnaise. Then the salad gets such a gentle light taste, characteristic only of Mimoza salad. Mimosa in full glory.

Of course, there are a million different interpretations of this recipe, but these two are the most common and, I think, the most delicious.

If you are a representative of the modern generation, and yet did not know this recipe, then, I hope, after my recommendations on the preparation of Mimoza salad, you will join the connoisseurs of Soviet cooking.
