Sores in the child's mouth

The child most often can be found sores in the mouth of two types, they differ in appearance. However, all these are only varieties of the same disease - stomatitis - inflammation of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity. Ulcers of red color are characteristic for herpetic stomatitis, which, as the name suggests, is caused by the herpes virus. A child who has this disease becomes capricious, cries a lot, refuses to eat.

Sores in the mouth with herpetic stomatitis can reach fairly large sizes, often exceeding 2-3 millimeters. In especially neglected cases, the dimensions can be even greater. In this case, along with inflammation of the oral cavity, there is an increased body temperature, an increase in lymph nodes.

Treatment of herpetic stomatitis is based on the intake of antiviral drugs. It is important that this process takes place under the strict supervision of the pediatrician. In addition to taking medications, you can rinse the mouth with decoctions of plants such as sage, chamomile, plantain, string and others. They have an anti-inflammatory effect and promote the healing of sores. In order to avoid damage to which a sore can be exposed in the mouth due to the mechanical effects of food, attention should be paid to the child's diet. It is recommended to limit to soft or semi-liquid food.

White sores in the child's mouth suggest that he developed candidal stomatitis, popularly known as thrush. This disease, unlike herpetic stomatitis, is caused by fungal infections, and not by viral infections. Therefore, the treatment is mainly to take antifungal drugs. In addition to white sores, on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity of the child you can observe a white coating that looks like cottage cheese.

To treat this disease, it is also recommended, first of all, to consult a pediatrician, then just follow his advice. Usually, in this case, a number of mouthwashes are prescribed, as well as ointments that have an antifungal effect. You can also rinse your mouth with a solution of soda, which has a detrimental effect on fungal microorganisms.

In both cases of stomatitis, an important role is played by the fact that they develop, in the first place, in those children whose immunity is weakened. To sore in the child's mouth do not appear, you need to monitor what food it consumes, how many vitamins it contains. After all, in the first place, the immunity is weakened when there is a shortage of certain vitamins or trace elements in the person's diet. In addition, you need to ensure that the child respects hygiene. This will reduce the risk of infection in the mouth.

Even if the child already had sores in his mouth, in addition to therapy directed specifically against these manifestations of the disease, measures should be taken to increase immunity.

To do this, use drugs such as "Imudon" or "Interferon".

But it is better to use these medicines only after consulting a specialist, since side effects are possible.
