The modern "Prior" engine is a sixteen-valve injection unit with integrated valves, which, unlike previous analogues, are characterized by high reliability and a long service life. But when the belt of the gas distribution mechanism breaks, the pistons collide with the valves, which can cause bending of the latter. Further operation of such a car is no longer possible. Replacement of injectors

"Priora" (16 valves) is equipped with very reliable spray nozzles, so replacing them will be an extremely unprofitable solution. In general, it must be said that the dismantling of these elements refers to such types of work that need to be done only as a last resort.

The main signs that you need to replace these parts

  • A sharp drop in engine power.
  • "Trochanie" (when one of the cylinders in the motor stops working).
  • Increase fuel consumption.
  • Difficult start of engine even "on hot".

Cleaning the injectors is a more democratic solution than replacing them with new parts, and in both cases they will have to be removed. Below we will consider how to remove and clean this part from accumulated deposits.

First you need to remove the ramp. This is the detail in which the nozzles are located. When replacing the engine itself must be cooled down.

So, how to remove the ramp? To begin with, we de-energize the gasoline pump by disconnecting the wires from it, starting the engine and letting it run on the remaining fuel that is in the fuel lines, until it stops. So we will remove the differences in the pressure from the gasoline supply system. Then we safely remove the ramp, having previously disconnected it (the wiring is located on the side of the passenger compartment).

For further dismantling, unscrew the fuel hoses and all the wiring connected to the ramp. This is an idle speed regulator , a pressure regulator, as well as a throttle position sensor. Using a hexagon, unscrew the 2 bolts of the ramp fastening. The last detail can now be safely removed in the direction parallel to the ground.

Now the injectors

Clean them on a clean, clean surface. For further work we need the following elements: nozzles, a 12 volt bulb, a carburetor cleaning balloon, a switch and a pair of wires. All parts are connected in series:

  1. Lamp.
  2. Nozzle.
  3. Switch.

Using a plastic clip, attach the hose at the outlet of the spray nozzle with a length of 30 centimeters. Next, turn on the nozzle, and put the end of the tube into the cleaning fluid. We follow the change in the spraying of the jet. It can expand or narrow (it all depends on the degree of contamination). After the jet stops changing, you can safely complete the cleaning process. The assembly of the element is carried out in the reverse order similar to the removal.
