Amber acid for orchids: how to apply?

Today in pharmacies is sold a huge number of different drugs from all sorts of diseases. But many do not even realize that some of them can be used to maintain indoor plants. One of these agents is succinic acid. For an orchid, this drug is simply irreplaceable. So, how to use this medicine correctly?

What is succinic acid?

This drug is most often issued in the form of crystals dissolved in alcohol or in pure water. In this case, succinic acid has no color. For plants, this agent is a growth regulator. Domestic orchids, with insufficient care, grow poorly and, of course, do not bloom. Succinic acid allows plants to better absorb all the useful components contained in the soil, and also helps to adapt when changing the climate or after a transplant. In other words, the drug helps orchids faster and easier to carry stress. Very often plants suffer precisely because of unfavorable conditions for growth and during transplantation.

How the drug works

Amber acid for orchids is used not only as a stimulator of growth and flowering. Often, plants need regeneration. However, the greatest effect can be achieved by applying the drug only at the right time and in the right dosage. The treatment with succinic acid can be performed several times. In the solution, it is possible to soak the planting material or to lower the roots of the plant in it, and also to spray them with the ground part of the flower or to soil them with watering them.

Amber acid strengthens orchids, increasing their resistance to various diseases. Thanks to this substance, plants start to bloom better, as the drug increases the level of chlorophyll.

What is the treatment of seeds and seedlings?

Domestic orchids are rather capricious plants, which often fall ill. Additional processing of planting material with succinic acid makes it possible to increase the resistance of flowers to negative environmental factors, and also to accelerate their growth and to strengthen not only the roots, but also the ground part. In addition, the drug helps microorganisms in the soil, much faster to destroy any toxic organic substances. Amber acid for an orchid is a rescue from toxic components for them, capable of accumulating in plants.

Spraying plants with a solution

As already mentioned, succinic acid can be used in several ways: soak the solution in the solution for planting, watering and spraying indoor flowers. In the drugstore the drug can be bought in the form of tablets. They can also be used. In order to make a spraying solution, it is enough to dissolve one dragee in a liter of clean water. But not everything is so simple.

Experts recommend first to dissolve the tablet in a small amount of slightly warm water, and only then to bring the volume to one liter. The resulting composition can be sprinkled with roots, stems and leaves of an orchid.

Carry out a similar treatment of all indoor plants should not be more than once in 30 days.

How to soak the roots

How else does succinic acid work? Tablets, the instructions for breeding which described above, can be used to prepare a special solution in which you can soak the roots. The processing time in this case depends on the situation and can be from 30 minutes to 4 hours. It is not necessary to keep roots in solution for longer. The most optimal time is 1 to 2 hours. If the roots can not be damped, they can be sprayed with a solution. After this treatment, the material must dry. This takes about 30 minutes. After this, the plant can be planted in a pre-prepared pot.

Seed treatment before sowing

Domestic orchids can be grown from seeds. Before planting, they can also be treated with a solution of succinic acid. To begin with, prepare the drug by dissolving one tablet in a liter of water. After that, you need to put the seeds in the resulting composition. Processing time can be from 12 to 24 hours. After the procedure, the seeds should be dried and put in a container filled with a suitable substrate.

Precautionary measures

Succinic acid is a safe substance for fauna, flora and man. In this case, the preparation does not pollute the environment. However, it is best to work with succinic acid in gauze dressing and in gloves. Do not eat, smoke or drink while working with the solution. It is better to treat plants with succinic acid in the absence of pets and, of course, children.

Finally

When using this tool, the main thing is to remember that succinic acid for orchids is not a top dressing per se. It is rather a substance that helps the fertilizer to be absorbed more quickly. And this, in turn, allows you to significantly reduce the amount of fertilizing applied to the soil.
