Characteristics of a difficult learner: a drawing scheme and an example

Characterization of a difficult student requires from the teacher, who composes it, not only psychological knowledge, but also the ability to analyze the situation from different sides. Such a document is designed to provide the most complete information about the personality of the student and help plan development assistance to the child.

In what cases is it necessary to characterize a difficult teenager?

Characteristics for a difficult student are usually planned (when moving to the next stage of training, when transferring to another educational institution, visiting the military registration and enlistment office) or at the request (demand) of other instances: law enforcement agencies, social services, other services for working with minors.

In this case, the document gives the requesting body information about the child and the opportunity to draw conclusions: what is the cause of the problem behavior, absenteeism or poor student performance. The information obtained is usually used when planning appropriate assistance - bringing to account parents, corrective and preventive measures with the child, medical treatment, etc.

Characteristics of a difficult student: a plan

Any characteristic is an official document, so it must be competently compiled. Information should be submitted in batches, each paragraph should describe one aspect of the development of the child. The document must be certified by persons from among teachers who have the most extensive experience of communicating with the child (class teacher, teacher-psychologist, teacher-defectologist) and the head (director or his deputy). If the characteristic is printed not on the letterhead of the institution, then at the top, before the "cap", all the requisites of the school are indicated.

Characteristics per pupil (a difficult teenager or an exemplary best worker) is also compiled according to a certain algorithm, which includes such information:

  • General data on the student (as the name, age, where he lives and in what conditions, the state of health);
  • Characteristics of the family (social well-being, status, material standard of living);
  • Pedagogical information: academic performance, behavioral peculiarities in the classroom, cognitive interest, attitude to social activity;
  • Psychosocial development of the child (development of mental functions, personality traits, sociometric status in the group, social impact on development, propensity to deviant behavior: delinquency, self-destructive behavior);
  • Out-of-school interests and inclinations.

Social information about the student

Characterization of a difficult student implies the disclosure of the reasons for his poor academic performance or hard-to-learn. A great influence in such negative aspects is given to the social situation of development. It:

  • Family influence (incomplete and large families, parents' dependencies, convictions, violence and conflicts in the family);
  • Low material well-being in the family;
  • Presence of seriously ill close relatives who are in direct contact with the child;
  • Severe life circumstances (for example, relocation from "hot spots").

Characteristics of a difficult pupil of primary school should also include information about the visit of the kindergarten, correctional groups (whether on the account of defectologists), how much the development of the basic physical and mental functions corresponds to the norm. Thus, the organic features of development are excluded from the causes of underachieving and a conclusion is made about the pedagogical neglect, which will later become the subject of correction.

Psychological characteristics of a deviant teenager

In the language of psychologists, "a difficult teenager" is a fairly broad notation. Specialists distinguish deviant adolescents (the personality warehouse and the social situation of development lead them to deviant behavior) and pedagogically neglected children, who have not formed interest in studies, have no training skills and are suffering from academic performance. In order for the characteristic to give an idea of a particular child, it is necessary to analyze these psychological moments in it:

  • Development of motivation for learning, cognitive functions (thinking, speech, attention, memory);
  • The usual emotional state of the child;
  • Personality traits, character;
  • Physical and psychological traces of violence against the child;
  • The presence of cases of deviant behavior (bad habits, delinquency);
  • Communication with peers (sociometric status in the classroom, a company of friends);
  • Presence of interests and useful occupations.

An example of a characteristic of a difficult pupil

Characteristic

Students 9 B class

... (the name of the institution)

Vasilisa Vasilyevna Vasilyeva

Vasilisa Vasilieva started training in ... (school) 2 years ago. Before that she was a student ... (school), where she came from because of the conflict situation in the classroom. In this school, Vasilisa showed herself as a difficult student with less motivation for the learning process.

Vasilisa lives in an incomplete, dysfunctional family. Father, Vasiliev V. V., is in prison, mother, Vasilieva V. V., unemployed, has alcohol dependence. The child is raised from time to time, most of the time the girl is left to herself. The material well-being of the family is low: Vasilisa does not have all the necessary items of seasonal clothing (she walks in autumn boots in the winter), sometimes she asks her classmates money for lunch. From the previous school, the girl left, because she created a conflict situation in the team - she stole money from a classmate.

At the lessons Vasilisa behaves passively, does not delve into the learning process, does not perform homework. The progress is low, there are no favorite subjects. Often skips classes, sometimes for a good reason (sick, has chronic bronchitis).

By the nature of Vasilisa, a closed, unsociable, distrustful girl. With classmates behaves detached, tries to avoid them. The comments react coldly, without interest, but not aggressively.

With Vasilisa, it is planned to conduct correctional sessions with a psychologist, as well as informing social services about the child's family situation as unfavorable for full-fledged development.

At the end, the date and the signature are put.
