Long overdue reconstruction of Ryazan Avenue

Problems of transport communications in Moscow have long reached a critical degree of relevance. The capacity of many main radial highways is either completely exhausted, or has come very close to this state. Reconstruction of Ryazan Avenue is one of the primary tasks, without which it is impossible to optimize transport communication throughout the South-Eastern Administrative District of the capital. The length of this highway exceeds 7 kilometers, and the whole transport scheme of the south of Moscow depends on its smooth functioning. The presence or absence of traffic jams on all the streets crossing it directly depends on the capacity of the radial highway.

Reconstruction of Ryazan Avenue

Work on the reconstruction of the highway has already been fully deployed. It is planned to complete them in the fourth quarter of next year. The plan for the reconstruction of Ryazan Prospect includes expanding it by one lane in each direction. Movement on the prospectus after its reconstruction will be carried out on four lanes in each direction. This will significantly increase the capacity of the highway, even with the fact that one lane will be reserved for public transport. In addition to expanding the roadway, the reconstruction of Ryazan Prospect includes a number of not less significant events. This is the construction of two overpass overpasses at the intersections with Nizhny Novgorod and Novokhokhlovskaya streets. The length of each of them is about two hundred meters. The most difficult part of the project is the construction of a tunnel junction at the intersection with Tashkent Street and Khlobystova Street. After traffic flows are diverted to different levels, the throughput of the crossroads will increase dramatically. And, accordingly, the probability of traffic jams not only on this part of Ryazan Avenue, but also on the streets adjacent to it, will sharply decrease. The peculiarity of this project should be the preservation of the already formed principle of movement in the South-Eastern Administrative District. His radical transformation does not envisage the ongoing reconstruction of Ryazan Prospekt. The scheme of motion will remain the same, only its conditions will change.

Arrangement of the adjacent territory

To optimize traffic in the south of Moscow, a number of factors are important. In addition to the reconstruction of the main lines, everything that directly adjoins them is of great importance. Reconstruction of Ryazan Avenue, among other things, includes the construction of two large intercepting parking lots with a total capacity of more than a thousand seats. The system of intercepting parking facilities allows to reduce drastically the transport tension in the city center. In addition, the project of reconstruction of Ryazan Avenue provides for the arrangement of 24 out-of-pocket pockets and seven new side-ways. Their total length is more than four hundred meters.
