Interior doors: dimensions with a box. Dimensions of door frames of interior doors

When building a house or repairing an existing building, you have to either arrange an entrance opening in accordance with the door chosen in advance, or order and mount new canvases into those that already exist. In both cases, it is important to know what size both the entrances and the interior doors have (size with and without the box).

Define the concepts

The door is called a hole in the wall, which is designed to install (mount) the input block. It can be external or internal (interior). The so-called box for the door is its fixed part, fixed in the opening. To it by means of loops the cloth is fastened.

When calculating the value of any opening, it is required to know the dimensions of the door frames of the interior doors, i.e. their height and width, the dimensions of the casing. Also it is necessary to take into account the thickness of the box and the presence of a threshold. When calculating it is necessary to add the dimensions of the box from both sides to the width of the canvas, and also to provide the clearance necessary for installation between it and the wall panel. Usually it is from 15 to 30 mm.

The standard heights of the doorways are 2100 and 2400 mm. And the width can be from 700 to 1900 mm, and those of them, whose width does not exceed 1200 mm, are designed for single-leaf doors, and wider ones for double-leaf doors. There are, in addition, so-called. Semi-profiled doors - having two leaflets of different widths.

How to measure the doorway

The width of the opening is measured in its narrowest part, most often at the top. For greater accuracy it is recommended to measure it in three different places. Height - from the floor to the top of the opening at the lowest point. If such a place is not detected on the eye, it is worth measuring twice - right and left. The depth of the box is set by measuring the width of all slopes at least three places.

For qualitative work, it is best to call a professional gauger. This service is provided by the majority of firms supplying and assembling doors. If you measure yourself, if you provide inaccurate data, you will have to pay for the return of the door that has not approached to the warehouse and the new one. In the case of a professional call, the entire risk is borne by the manufacturer.

How not to get trapped

In order not to be in a situation where the dimensions of the boxes do not correspond to the openings, you should precisely define your parameters. Most doors of different manufacturers have a universal size - width 60, 70 or 80 centimeters at a height of 2 m. Individual manufacturers use a standard combination of height in 190 cm with a width of 55 cm. The thickness of boxes usually varies from 15 to 40 mm.

If an unsuccessfully sized door block does not fit into the opening, the latter will have to be expanded. Sometimes it is impossible because of the layout. In this case, the only way out is to order a door of a non-standard size, which is economically unprofitable. Typically, the cost of such atypical blocks is 30-50 percent more expensive than conventional ones.

When the door does not fit the opening, it is impossible to change its dimensions in most cases. Exception - designs with sliding canvases. They are sold with a set of parts, allowing you to set the right size guide, and the height of the canvas can be slightly reduced with a small hacksaw or electric jigsaw. The width is adjusted by the degree of web tension.

When the alterations are coming

It happens that the opening is a little bit wider than the bought door, then it will require its narrowing, which also takes away a lot of strength and money. In addition to the need to build up walls on both sides of the canvas, a situation may arise where the casing does not completely cover the sealing space between the panel and the box. In this case, there is an additional amount of work to glue the wallpaper or report the tiles. And more often it is necessary to carry out it independently, as to find the master on such a scanty front of work is not easy.

In addition, we remember the thickness of the walls. In standard houses it is 750 mm, and most manufacturers try to make door frames of the appropriate size. If the thickness of the panel and the input block does not match, you may need to either expand the box (in the form of a cut or slope), or drink in the share direction. Without such refinement, the clypeus is impossible to install, which reduces the appearance of the structure.

When the thickness of the walls along the entire perimeter of the opening is the same (it is set by repeated measurement in several control points), it makes sense to order a door according to individual dimensions. If the spread in the measurements is from 3 to 30 mm, then it is better to make a tool which is then cut off not in a straight line, but taking into account the curvature of the walls.

If, after installing the door, there is a change in the floor covering, an unpleasant need to "cut" the door from underneath - after all, the new boards are much thicker than the old linoleum. Only a professional can perform such a job qualitatively.

Interior doors: dimensions with box

The dimensions of the doors are regulated by more than 30 GOSTs and SNIPs. Determine the most important of them.

According to GOST, the doors have the following dimensions:

- Kitchen door: width 70 cm, height - 2 m with the depth of the box 7 cm.

- Door to the toilet and bathroom: width 55 or 60 cm, height - 1 m 90 cm or 2 m. Box - from 5 to 7 cm.

- Interior door: the width is usually 80 cm, the height is 2 m. The depth of the box is 5-6 cm.

Interior dimensions for the living room doors with the box have the following (we are talking about double doors): height - 2 m, width - 1 m 20 cm, and depth - from 7 to 20 cm.

The purchase of standard doors has several advantages. This is a wide choice, easy installation and, most importantly, cost-effectiveness.

When delivering interior doors, the manufacturer must specify the dimensions with the box on the original packaging. A gap of about 30 mm in height and width between the box and the opening is needed for correct installation, fastening, adjustment, installation of heat and sound insulation and filling with foam.

Sliding doors

In recent years, the popularity of sliding doors has increased dramatically . They are original and convenient, allow you to save space in small apartments and decorate the interior of large rooms. Sliding interroom doors are single-leaf and double-leaf. The first are often used in small rooms, when opened, they shift to the side. Installation is quite easy, without the installation of a door frame.

The second (ie bivalve) - wide, comfortable and bearing a decorative function. Are put in spacious rooms and consist, as a rule, of two halves.

Their dimensions in height - from 2 meters, in width - 1-1.8 meters, you can choose other parameters.

Sliding interroom doors can be glass, folding type "accordion" (from different materials, from aluminum to wood), such as "coupe" or "pencil case", and also represent a system of sliding partitions.
