Basic rules for laying ovens

Masonry stoves - it is time-consuming and, most importantly, responsible process. If errors are made at any stage, the results of such work can be deplorable. Therefore, you should know the basic rules of laying stoves. If they are observed, the erected construction will become a reliable source of heat for a long time.

Project

Starting any construction follows from the preparatory work. This requirement is fully justified for the construction of such a design as a Russian stove. Its laying should be carried out according to a certain scheme. At the same time, the project should be chosen in such a way that all parts of the future furnace are heated at the furnace evenly. If this condition is met, the masonry will not crack.

Foundation

The basis for the construction of furnaces must be made of reinforced concrete. Although allowed and the use of columnar foundations, provided that the overlap with wooden bars 150h150. The height for the laying of stoves does not reach the level of the finishing floor by about 2 bricks. Further it is required to lay a layer of waterproofing. And most importantly - in no case can the foundations of the stove and the building be linked, as they can walk with each other, which will lead to not the most pleasant consequences. This can be expressed in the appearance of cracks and even destruction of the masonry. If there is no possibility to equip a full base, then the furnace can be erected on a reinforced concrete slab of the lower floor. But this is only in the last resort.

Material

Brick for masonry stoves should choose brands M200 full-bodied red. It must be a regular geometry, without cracks. Also, attention should be paid to the scatter in the size of the bricks. It should be minimal.

Solution

Masonry of brick furnaces is made with the help of building mixtures. The solution is made from clay and sand. Cement in such mixtures should not be! It is important. Clay and sand are kneaded in a ratio of 1: 2 or 1: 3, respectively. The ratio of the components of the solution is chosen based on the fat content of the clay. Sand before the addition must be sifted through the mesh, removing from its composition all the large elements. The solution should be mixed so carefully that the result is a uniform creamy mass.

Masonry

When performing the installation work, you must strictly follow the following rules:

- it is necessary to carry out dressing of seams on 1/2 bricks;

- should strictly monitor the verticality of all angles with the help of a plumb or building level ;

- the thickness of the joints should not exceed 5 mm;

- Do not work at temperatures below 0;

- all seams should be completely filled with mortar.

Doors

As is known, the metal under strong heating has the property of expanding. This fact should be taken into account when constructing such structures. If the metal doors close to the brick, it can lead to the destruction of the furnace. To avoid this, you should leave a small gap between the frame and the masonry. In the resulting gap, the asbestos cord moistened in the clay solution should be placed .

Lining

Under this name is meant a special finish of the internal space of the furnace. Do it to protect the surface from possible physical and mechanical damage. From the point of view of laying the furnaces, the lining is an additional brick row. Do it without dressing with the main structure. This is due to the fact that the furnace will later be easier to repair by replacing the worn lining layer.
