Only their taste is significantly different from summer ones. And, probably, this is most noticeable in apples. Bought in the store almost have no flavor and taste. Yes, their use is very doubtful. It will be much better to freeze the summer apples to preserve all their qualities.

Like any harvest for the winter, the apples should be frozen with the selection of suitable fruits. For this purpose, suitable for any variety: sweet, sour-sweet and sour. The main thing is that it should be ripe and fresh fruits. If they still have small traces of spoilage, you can simply cut these places. Before proceeding to further processing of apples, they need to be thoroughly washed and removed from the stem and leaves.

In order to freeze apples for the winter, they are most often used in a dry way. For this, they are cut, the core is removed with seeds and cut into 6-8 pieces, depending on the size. If desired, you can peel apples from the skin, if it is not needed in prepared dishes. To lobes do not darken, they should be lubricated with lemon juice or water with ascorbic acid dissolved in it (for 100 ml 1 teaspoon). Now you need to arrange the prepared apples on a plastic board and leave in the freezer for 2-3 hours. Ready frozen apples are folded as tightly as possible in a plastic container or bag.

If in the future fruit will be used for making compotes, desserts and pies, you can treat them before freezing in sugar syrup. For him, mix a glass of sugar and a half cup of water, add a little citric acid to prevent the apples from darkening. Already finished slices dipped in this syrup and put in a bag or container. After they managed to freeze such apples, they can be stored for up to 12 months. Do not worry about the syrup remaining in the package. A small amount of it will give the prepared dish an extra sweetness.

Another way, how can you freeze apples - it's entirely. In the future, they can be used for baking in the oven or adding to cakes. For this variant of frost, only selected fruit without a trace of rot and darkening is suitable. Fruit wash and dry with a paper towel. In apples remove a special knife core with seeds. Prepared in this way, the fruit is dipped in lemon juice or water with ascorbic. Wrap it with food film, as much as possible removing air. Remove the apple in the freezer and use as needed.

Regardless of how frozen apples will be used in the future , the benefits from them surpass not only the benefits of imported varieties, but also those stored in cellars and cellars. Thanks to the freezing, even at the beginning of the next apple season, they retain all the properties of fresh fruits. After all, in the freezer they can be stored for 6 to 12 months, without worrying that they will deteriorate.
