Enema during pregnancy. Harm or benefit?

Yes, pregnancy is delicate. As however, and health, especially women. Concerning pregnancy, you can say that here, as nowhere else, superstitions, speculation, fears, prejudices are strong ... To cut or not to cut hair, to walk or not to the bath, helps or harms the enema during pregnancy and so on, other, other ...

If you think about it, without even straining yourself, you can continue this "permissive-prohibitory list."

And yet, maybe, there are scientific reasons for whether it is possible for pregnant women to make an enema and in what cases is this happening?

So, first you need to decide what kind of cause is bothering you, that you decided on this step?

The most common cause is constipation. And if, if not in an "interesting position", you hesitate without hesitation for such cleansing of the intestine, then, perhaps by inertia, you resort to this method now? But the body of a pregnant woman and not a pregnant woman requires a completely different approach.
Did you know that the same muscles control both the uterine contractions and the contractions of the intestinal muscles during defecation? Therefore, launching them into action with the help of external stimuli, you can start the process of childbirth. Especially, this applies to those who have a threat of miscarriage, muscle tone of the uterus or gestational age is already solid - more than 35-36 weeks. Therefore, an enema during pregnancy, accompanied by such factors, is undesirable.

But if the enema is not recommended for pregnant women, how can you cleanse the intestines? Such a question is heard on a daily basis by all gynecologists. The fact is that even resorting to such a radical and quick method of cleaning the intestines, you do not get rid of the most important thing - the cause that generates constipation. It is necessary to fight precisely with them, and not with the investigation.

First, the food ration matters. Open the refrigerator and evaluate critically everything that is stored there, being the basis of your diet. At least half of the diet should be vegetables and fruits, bran, natural juices, yogurt, kefir, fermented baked milk. Believe me, this will immediately adjust your body to the right way and no enema during pregnancy will cope better.

It is advisable to drink fresh kefir before going to bed, and your morning should begin with a warm glass of water. Just do not drink boiled water, it's better to have a pure spring or filtered water at room temperature. You can warm it up a little.
The second important point in helping your intestines is a lifestyle change. Constipation, alas, is the lot of those who move little. And during pregnancy, this is especially important, because the uterus presses on the intestines and makes it difficult to walk. Therefore, the exit is movement. Of course, this does not mean that you can now run on the simulators or, worse, swing the press, as in the good old days. But special gymnastics for pregnant women with the use of rubber balls, light stretch marks and massage is truly capable of doing wonders!

In any case, an enema during pregnancy, even if put, then only after your attending physician, after trying more and more sparing methods, will give the go-ahead for such a procedure. And this will happen only if there are serious testimony.

Remember, an enema is made at most once a week. Its volume should not exceed 0.5 liters. The water is added tinctures of chamomile, calendula or a few drops of oil - this is also decided by the doctor.

And besides, the procedure itself is conducted under the supervision of a nurse, because putting an enema at home you risk bringing an infection, and this is no less serious than constipation. Only in good sterile conditions it is possible to put an enema as an abdomen and there should be no alternatives to it.

Do not take any steps, based only on home-grown advice and speculation. Your health and the health of a child are a thousand times more important!
