Fried potatoes with onion

We in Russia are used to scold the government. Sometimes it is quite fair, and sometimes completely groundless. Often discontent arises from a misunderstanding of the ideas of the ruling elite by society, and all the incomprehensible is always explained simply by the insidiousness of the reformers. This has the most direct relation to the attempt to cultivate potatoes in Russia. Under Catherine II, all efforts to instill the interest of Russians in this culture ended in the fact that the Germans began to grow potatoes on a large scale, and nothing was needed to plant them. This fact only aggravated the rejection by the peasant environment of this root crop. The logic was simple: that the German is good - then we are dead.

The second, already more serious stage of inculcation of love for potatoes, came under Nicholas I. The decree of the government, obliging the state peasants to sow this culture, was perceived as the forerunner of the end of the world. Wandering preachers walked around the villages claiming that the very apple, because of which people were expelled from paradise, fell out of Adam's hands and turned into a potato tuber. It must be added that the summer when the decree was issued was unusually hot, and it seemed that the lightsaber commenced. In areas affected by unrest, troops were introduced, preachers arrested, but potato lovers did not add these measures. The peasants with all their hearts were attached to turnips and it seemed that nothing in the world could stop them from falling out of love with this fruit. Who does not believe, let him read Russian folk tales. No other product caused so many positive emotions among ordinary people.

This experience was repeated already under the Soviet regime: then corn was introduced into agriculture. Riotage did not cause introduction, but led to big problems in providing citizens with bread.

In the end, common sense won, the end of the world was postponed indefinitely, and the Russian people completely stopped using turnips for food. Cooking from this only won, instead of a simple steam turnip, it was enriched with a variety of complex and delicious dishes, one of which is fried potatoes with onions.

To potatoes fried with onions turned out well, you need to reheat the frying pan with the oil poured into it. It is not necessary to regret oil, the potato gets its pleasant golden color, frying in oil. Cut potatoes can be straws, and can and thin plates, the main thing - that the pieces were small enough and well-roasted.

The chopped onion is added somewhere closer to the middle of the frying process. Cooking should be on high heat, do not forget to stir occasionally. When the potatoes are browned, the frying pan can be removed from the fire and covered with a lid. Let it takes about five minutes. On this we can assume that potatoes fried with onions are ready.

Potatoes fried with minced meat are also very tasty dish. Minced meat is better suited to this dish, if it consists of 2/3 beef and 1/3 of pork. In the mince is added chopped or finely chopped onions, pepper and salt to taste, a little pulp of white bread soaked in milk.

The stuffing is fried in vegetable oil until cooked. Potatoes are cut into half rings and fried separately until golden brown. Then both parts of the dish are mixed. Topped with sliced tomatoes and onions. All this is poured with sour cream and sprinkled with grated cheese. After that, the food is sent to the oven for a few minutes. It turns out not worse than potatoes fried with onions.

Here is another simple and satisfying dish - fried potatoes with an egg. Reheat the frying pan with butter. Potatoes fry on high heat for five minutes. Then add the tomatoes and continue the frying. When the potatoes are fried, pour the dish with beaten eggs. When the protein turns white, the dish is ready - ask the table!
