Many, probably, will be surprised by the fact that pumpkin is not a vegetable and especially not a fruit, but the most common berry. Not really, really, ordinary, but even more than that - unusual. Firstly, it contains so many minerals necessary for the healthy existence of man, as there is not in any other fruit. According to the pumpkin you can study the periodic table. It contains potassium, magnesium, iron, copper, and phosphorus. There are also inedible varieties, American Indians use them as bottles for water. In such bottles, water remains cool for a long time and does not bloom.

Still this berry is rich in a number of vitamins. Such as: B, C, E, PP, D and T. The latter, by the way, is very rare - it improves metabolic processes in the body and helps to keep youth for many years to come.

It is no coincidence that the pumpkin diet is prescribed for many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, with metabolic disorders, with nervous disorders and diseases of the cardiovascular system. Pumpkin is a recipe for aging. Pumpkin masks have a beneficial effect on the face. Cosmetologists recommend doing them 3 times a week. The duration of the course is 2 months.

The main thing in a pumpkin is that it is a very delicious and nutritious food product. There is a huge variety of dishes from it, with some of which we will get acquainted.

Naturally, it is required to clean the pumpkin before cooking, this is a labor-consuming task and does not require special knowledge and special skill. Before cooking, it is usually cut into cubes or slices to speed up the cooking process. Pumpkin seeds are also a valuable product. They are removed, cleaned of fibers and dried. Then they are fried and eaten, and also used for the production of pumpkin oil.

Pumpkin recipe for children

Sweet pumpkin:

  • In boiling milk put pieces of pumpkin with the addition of salt and sugar. When the pumpkin becomes soft, millet is filled in the pan. Cook should you have cereal until the mash is ready, before serving, put butter in the porridge.
  • The cut pumpkin is fried over low heat in oil. At the same time, a thick semolina porridge is cooked on milk. Porridge is mixed with pumpkin and add one egg, sugar to taste, a pinch of salt, 60 g of cottage cheese and half a glass of washed raisins. Then the resulting mass is spread on a baking tray, smeared with margarine, and baked in the oven for half an hour.

Pumpkin recipe for adults and children:

  • Pumpkin pieces are fried in flour on melted butter. The potato is boiled separately. The potato is placed on a plate, sprinkled with herbs, and on top are pieces of pumpkin. The top is filled with sour cream.
  • Pumpkin slices are breaded in breadcrumbs or flour and fried in vegetable oil. Immediately, as soon as they are turned on the opposite side, they are poured with beaten eggs. The dish is covered with a lid and remains on fire for another 5 minutes.

Pumpkin salad recipe

  • Carrots, apples, pumpkin pulp in equal proportions rubbed on grater and dressed with sour cream or mayonnaise. Salt and sugar are added to taste. Top of the salad sprinkles with herbs.
  • Pumpkin and apples are rubbed on a grater. Walnuts are pounded and poured into the mixture. Top of the salad is poured with currant and lemon juice.

Pumpkin recipe for gourmets

  • For this dish you need a small pumpkin. Carefully cut off its top, take out the seeds and flesh from inside, it is done better with a spoon with a long handle. The filling is prepared from ground beef, fried onions, parsley, dill, ground black pepper. Ready-made stuffing fill the internal cavity of the pumpkin. The cut off top is attached back by means of matches. Bake a dish in the oven for an hour.

And, of course, we can not ignore the fact that pumpkin is a wonderful scarecrow for halloween, especially if you put a burning candle inside and cut out the semblance of a human face on it.
