Documents for the replacement of the passport: what you need to know before applying to the Federal Migration Service

Many believe that once receiving a passport in 14 years, to face this procedure will no longer have to. This opinion is erroneous: people get married, get divorced, change their appearance and even sex, and sometimes face such unpleasantness as loss or theft of documents. In all these cases it will be necessary to apply to the migration service for a new passport. And you need to do this as quickly as possible, because without it a person can be said to be limited in rights: he will not be able to take a loan, make a large purchase, and even buy a new sim card in the communication salon.

The list of documents for the replacement of the passport is somewhat different, depending on the reason it caused. However, in all cases it is necessary:

• Pay the state fee;
• Make 2 photos, the format of which must match the established pattern (in case of loss / theft of 4 pcs.);
• Fill in the application for the receipt / replacement of the passport;
• Present the original of the birth certificate;
• Provide the original documents required for stating the passport in the required grades.

If the need to retrieve the main identity document is caused by such an unpleasant event, then additional originals will be required:

• A document confirming the registration of the incident (ticket-notification);

After the documents for the replacement of the passport of the Russian Federation are filed, it will remain to wait 10 days and again to come to the FMS for its receipt. However, for those who do the re-registration not at the place of residence, this period will be 2 months.

To replace a passport, a citizen is allowed not more than 30 days. The administrative code provides for fines for its delay, the minimum amount of which is 1.5 thousand rubles.
