Birth certificate. Subtlety of apostillation and other nuances

Personal documents, passports and certificates from the registrar's offices, various confirmations and references ... Who among us did not encounter problems when the appropriate mark is not there or not? Who of us did not have to prove that the record or its cancellation is valid? The birth certificate is the kind of official paper that, by an unimaginable coincidence, we may need, even when we have become fully mature people. What nuances exist in the storage of this document and how to act properly if necessary to put on it a particular label?

Get a birth certificate or countless of its duplicates is quite simple. Initially, this document is issued by the Civil Registry Office at the place of residence of one of the parents, provided that there is a certificate of the birth of the child. After that, getting a duplicate is not difficult. Moreover, for this you do not even have to prove your "parenthood" or a related relationship with a person. By and large, if you know where and when a person was born, the local civil registry office will issue you a birth certificate (more precisely, its duplicate, but the document will not lose its strength from it). However, with the receipt of this documentary confirmation of the problem Russians only begin.

If before the birth certificate was enclosed in a solid "crust", as a diploma or certificate, today it is an extremely fragile piece of paper. It (quite legitimately and correctly, in my opinion) is required before boarding the train and before starting medical procedures. A small "but": literally after five years of the child's life, his birth certificate turns into a worn rag. The use of modern technologies (lamination, for example) is prohibited. It turns the document into a regular sheet of paper, sealed in plastic.

In the past 10 years, the Russians have another problem. It is related to questions about where and how to place an apostille on a birth certificate. Those who came across this, will understand. If you still do not know what it is, consider yourself a darling of fate. Apostille is an official certificate (label) that the document is a genuine paper. Note that its effect extends only to the countries of the Hague Treaty (agreement). There are a lot of participants in this convention, so a complete list of them is easy to learn using help systems or books.

Apostille (birth certificate, diploma or other document must be assured) can be affixed not only to the original, but also to the notarized copy, the translation of the document, confirmed officially. Due to this stamp, additional authentication of the document upon entry into the country-participant of the above-mentioned agreement will not be required.

When it comes to the very first document, the answer to the question of where to put the apostille on the birth certificate is quite simple: for the modern "papers" the reverse side is the place for the stamp, on the "adult" crusts the label will be marked on a separate Sheet, sewn with the original. If it is an organization, then, let's say, the certificate is implemented by the main department in the sphere to which the document belongs.
