Diet of nursing mothers

The last nine months, all your thoughts have been centered around the future of the baby. But now the child was born and now you need to think not only about yourself. Your baby's health will depend on your nutrition, because breast milk is his only food in the first months of life. Therefore, it is so important to comply with all the recommendations of the doctor in the field of nutrition, so the special diet of nursing mothers is important.

There are several variants of diets, and all of them differ in the composition of permitted and forbidden products. Diet for a nursing mother depends on her condition and the health of the baby, as well as on the presence of allergic reactions.

Whichever variant of nutrition the young mother uses, you should know that introducing new types of foods into your diet should be one at a time and with an interval of at least 4-5 days, while watching the behavior, the baby's stool and the cleanliness of his skin all the time.

Diet of nursing mothers before the execution of a child completely excludes the use of the month:

  • Any meat broth,

  • Cow milk (both home and shop),

  • Coffee and black tea, alcoholic beverages,

  • Any pastry made of white flour of the highest quality,

  • Sour cream,

  • raisins,

  • Any vegetables and fruits in their raw form (except for bananas and baked apples).

In the first decade of a child's life, the diet of nursing mothers prescribes the use of the following products by Mom:

  • Boiled lean meat ,

  • vegetable soup,

  • Baked apples and bananas,

  • Various porridges of buckwheat, oatmeal, corn, barley, wheat cereals ,

  • Olive, corn, sunflower oil and no more than 15 grams of butter a day,

  • Spring water, green tea, broth of wild rose, compote of dried fruits.

From the eleventh day after childbirth, the diet of nursing mothers is supplemented with certain products, which need to be administered in small portions and gradually:

  • Baked with bran and gray bread ,

  • Boiled or baked potatoes,

  • Boiled, baked or steamed fish,

  • Eggs and hard cheeses,

  • Kefir, ryazhenka, cottage cheese,

  • Boiled or baked potatoes,

  • Small portions of pasta,

  • Fresh herbs,

  • Boiled, baked or stewed vegetables (pumpkin and turnips, carrots and onions, zucchini and beets, cauliflower and broccoli).

In addition to tea or in the form of snacks, you can use prunes, dried apricots and dates. Suitable drying or bagels, biscuits, biscuits, charlotte, pancakes from courgettes and croutons.

As soon as the child turns one month and the next 60 days of his life, the diet for nursing is replenished, the list of allowed products increases and the prohibitions are reduced. For the present it is impossible to drink alcohol, black tea and whole milk, and also to eat raisins. To the daily menu you can add:

  • Cooked at home cherry, apple and plum jam ,

  • Sour cream as a refueling of dishes,

  • Raw fruits and vegetables depending on the season,

  • Rabbit, chicken and quail meat, as well as veal,

  • Any nuts (exclude peanuts and pistachios),

  • Lean borsch with the addition of tomato juice or tomatoes,

  • Morse from blueberries, currants, lingonberries or cherries without pits.

Up to six months of the child's life, the mother should exclude alcohol and milk from her diet, and to the previous composition of the products, you can add:

  • Pearl and millet porridge,

  • Honey, molasses and propolis,

  • Green onions, celery, basil, tarragon, thyme, mint, oregano, minium, savory,

  • Freshly squeezed juices from beets, pumpkins, apples and carrots.

When the child reaches six months in the mother's menu, you can include small portions of seafood, fresh garlic and legumes. Do not forget that each person has his own particular body and reaction to various products. Any mother should carefully introduce every new product into her diet, constantly focusing on her baby. The diet of nursing mothers gives only generalized recommendations on the nutrition of the mother during lactation. Therefore, small deviations from the rules are possible.
