Chokeberry ashberry. Contraindications and medicinal properties

Aronia (chokeberry) has a practical and scientific interest because of the dark purple fruit. Their almost black coloration is due to an extremely high content of phenolic resins, especially anthocyanins (vegetable colored glycosides). The total anthocyanin content in black chokeberry is about 1480 mg per 100 g of fresh berries, and the proanthocyanidin concentration is about 664 mg per 100 g of fresh fruit. The healing properties of the black chokeberry are largely determined by the high content of anthocyanins. These substances (which are essentially pyrene salts) are able to repel pests and protect themselves from infection, they are the strongest antioxidants, therefore, oxidative stress in the fetus overcomes photosynthesis.

Today it is already known that the amount of antioxidants in black chokeberry is much higher than in more popular products such as blueberries, cranberries and blackberries. The growing interest in this culture is explained by the desire to increase (from various sources of plant life, such as berries and soft fruits, citrus fruits, vegetables, grains and spices) a set of foods consumed by food, rich in antioxidants. The fruits of chokeberry, as a source of antioxidants, have exceptional properties and are becoming popular. It has been found that useful substances, such as cyanidin-3-galactoside, epicatechin, caffeic acid, quercetin, delphinidin, petunidin, pelargonidin, peonidin and malvidin, contain black ashberry. Its useful properties are due to these substances, which, being phenolic antioxidants, refer to flavonoids.

When using the fruit of this wonderful plant, the risk of cell damage due to oxidation is reduced, as a result, the prevention of diseases caused by oxidative stress is carried out. Among them: colon cancer, cardiovascular diseases, chronic inflammation, inflammation of the choroid (uveitis), liver failure. Almost half of all vitamins contain chokeberry. Contraindications, of which there are some information, are not comparable to the benefits. Berry is rich in vitamins A, C, P, group B (B9, B6, B2), vitamin E, beta-carotene, anthocyanins, tannins. In addition to vitamins, it provides additional minerals and basic elements, especially potassium, calcium, iron, manganese, molybdenum, iodine and phosphorus.

Of particular interest in terms of health benefits is the aroma juice. Anthocyanins and flavonoids in it are five to ten times greater than the juices of cranberries, blueberries and blackberries. In addition, the juice of aronia contains more nutrients, such as antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins and minerals. According to some experts, he is able to effectively help in the fight against cancer and heart diseases. Ripe fruits of black chokeberry contain a large number of phenols, tannins, flavonoids and anthocyanins. From cancerous degenerations can protect the cell flavonoids, which contains chokeberry. Contraindications, described in some sources, report a danger of increasing the viscosity of the blood, but this is refuted by other data.

Phenols disinfect blood, promote wound healing, remove toxic substances from the body, reduce inflammation and excessively high blood pressure, improve the elasticity of blood vessels, and prevent clogging. Aronia (due to the ability to remove heavy metals from the body) is indicated to patients suffering from cancer, as well as to those who have had surgery or a complicated disease. A large amount of carotene contains chokeberry. Contraindications, which speak about the ability of substances contained in the fruits of chokeberry, cause thrombogenesis, are now also challenged.

It is known that juice or tea from black chokeberry is recommended for any problem with the circulatory system and at arterial pressure. Especially they are useful in inflammatory diseases of the kidneys, ulcers, diabetes, migraine, internal bleeding and anemia. Chokeberry has a great influence on liver function and bile secretion, it helps neutralize harmful substances in the liver and restore damaged functions. In case of inflammation of the gallbladder, bile ducts and jaundice, chokeberry also helps. Contraindications are associated with gastritis and peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum, therefore (because of the high content of organic acids), it must be used cautiously, without consulting a doctor and without exacerbations.
