Chemotherapy for breast cancer and other oncology

All cancers now scare people. First of all, this is due to the fact that these diseases lead to frightening consequences. It's no secret that the outcome of any cancer without proper treatment is death. The peculiarity of malignant pathology lies in the fact that it is extremely difficult to treat. What methods have not been used by medicine in recent years: the latest surgical operations with the use of modern equipment and medicines.

It would seem that in recent years, medicine has taken a sure step or even a leap forward, especially in such areas as transplantology, microsurgery and others. However, however regrettable to report, in the field of malignant neoplasms such a "step forward" did not happen. That is why at the present time, in the treatment of malignant tumors in advanced stages with metastasis, much responsibility is placed on already far from new chemotherapy. Destructive !? Yes, harmful to all organs and systems of the human body, but the only one capable of curing the disease.

The effectiveness of chemotherapy in advanced stages of cancer is extremely low, however, as for oncology at earlier stages - chemotherapy is (in many cases) simply irreplaceable.

Let's talk about this method of treatment for specific oncological diseases.

Most often, chemotherapy is used for breast cancer. Not only as a remedy, but also as a means to prevent further relapses. With oncology limited area of the breast and its lymph nodes this type of therapy is used after the operation. In cases of a more extensive spread of the tumor process, chemotherapy for breast cancer is prescribed before surgery to suppress the activity of the process and reduce the size of the tumor. This feature of therapy provides fewer relapses after surgical manipulation.

Therapy for breast cancer is divided into adjuvant and curative.

The above example of prescribing therapy before or after surgery is nothing more than an example of adjuvant therapy.

Therapeutic chemotherapy for breast cancer is used in cases of multiple metastases in order to reduce their size and suppress the process of malignant neoplasm (uncontrolled multiplication of pathological cells).

Local tumors that are not operative are treated with induction chemotherapy. This chemotherapy for breast cancer is performed in order to reduce the size of the tumor, which can carry out a surgical operation.

The same principles are met by chemotherapy for stomach cancer. With malignant neoplasms in the stomach, chemotherapy is also mandatory. Most often this option is used in combination with surgical treatment, sometimes it is combined with radiotherapy.

Treatment of a tumor of the stomach, like other organs and tissues, has its own peculiarities, however, the goal of chemotherapy in the treatment of similar neoplasms is the same - stopping the pathological reproduction of cancer cells, reducing the size of the tumor and, consequently, alleviating the symptoms and clinical manifestations of the disease.

Chemotherapy for ovarian cancer is most often adjuvant therapy, which continues to be repeated four to six times in the course of therapy within 3-6 months after surgery.

Medical products used in the therapy of malignant tumors, in particular - chemotherapy, provide not only the hope of patients to recover, but in reality they in most cases save lives.
