Alopecia of the head, or alopecia. Treatment of the disease by traditional and folk methods

With the problem of hair loss came across at least once in a life each person. In practically healthy people, thinning and thinning of hair can be caused by stresses, eating disorders and observance of various diets, poor ecology and exhaustion of the body after the infectious diseases. In women, temporary baldness occurs after pregnancy, as a side effect after taking hormonal contraceptives, with frequent staining and intensive use of thermal methods of styling.

If the hair leaves the head constantly and in large quantities, the trichologist diagnoses "alopecia". Treatment should be conducted after a medical examination, in the first place you should check the hormonal status of a person. The most common cause of baldness are diseases of the endocrine system (thyrotoxicosis or hypothyroidism, disruption of the adrenal cortex, increased production of the hormone testosterone). In other cases, the abnormal sensitivity of follicles to adrogens - sex hormones - is indicated.

There are several types of alopecia: androgenic alopecia, nesting (or focal) alopecia, scar and diffuse alopecia. Treatment is selected depending on the type of alopecia.

Hair loss due to hormonal changes

Most often (in 95% of cases) there is androgenic alopecia. Treatment for this type of baldness is carried out with drugs that block the activity of the alpha-reductase enzyme. This substance promotes the transition of testosterone to another form - dehydotestosterone. The last hormone causes disruption of hair growth from the hair follicle.

The drug used in the treatment of androgenic allopecia in both men and women is Minoxidil. Blocking the enzyme alpha-reductase, the drug causes relaxation of small vessels of the scalp, as a result of which the flow of blood to the hair follicles increases, and new capillaries grow in the skin. Another name of the drug is "Rogain", it is released in 2 and 5% concentration in a liquid form and as a foam. The effect of treatment sometimes has to wait a fairly long time - up to 4-6 months after the first use of the drug. In complex therapy, the use of Minoxidil and Finasteride medications is combined, this scheme of treating baldness is considered to be the most effective.

Focal or nesting alopecia

If the hair is thinning on the head with small islets, this is alopecia areata. Treatment of nest alopecia should be started as soon as possible. Focal alopecia is a mysterious disease that can begin and end suddenly. The islands of baldness on the head are unexpectedly replaced with lush and thick hair, but there is a danger of recurrence of the disease. The disease is dangerous because it can progress and change into total alopecia, when hair growth on the head and all over the body stops completely.

In complex treatment, vitamin and mineral preparations, laser and ultraviolet irradiation, head massage, ozonotherapy and mesotherapy are used. Prescribed remedies that cause mechanical irritation of the hair bulbs, for example, the drug "Diphenylcyclopropenone" or dibutyl ether. These medicines also cause increased blood circulation, and, consequently, nourishment of the skin on the head.

Alopecia areata: treatment with folk remedies

Burdock. The root of the plant is used, broths and ointments are prepared from it. To prepare the ointment, it is necessary to boil the roots and leaves of the plant before softening, grind and add fresh butter. Rub into the foci of alopecia. The broth is made as follows: the roots are filled with water so that the water hardly covers the medicinal raw material. Boil until soft. Every day, the roots of hair lubricate the decoction.

From the mixture of burdock and willow bark, you can also prepare the following decoction: 4 tbsp. Spoons of the mixture are poured with a liter of water. Boil for half an hour in a water bath.

Walnuts. Nut kernels (20 pieces) grind and mix with 80 ml of any vegetable oil. Rub this medicine in the affected areas.

Onion, garlic and horseradish. The juice of these plants has an irritating effect on the skin and causes hair growth. You can use pure juice or mix it with egg and olive oil (a tablespoon).

Well helps wiping the roots of hair with decoctions of oak bark, hop cones and decoction of needles of coniferous plants (pine, fir-tree or fir).

If you have alopecia, treatment may not be effective without taking sedatives. They increase resistance to stress, which leads to narrowing of the skin vessels and hair loss. Sometimes the reception of a psychotherapist has no less powerful effect on the course of the disease than the use of medications.
