When is the norm in girls?

Whatever it may seem strange, but the allocation of girls, even newborns - this is normal. As a rule, they are odorless, liquid and have a whitish color. In babies, which are several days old, even brown or spotting may appear. This need not be feared. This is the result of the fact that in the intrauterine development in the blood of the girl penetrated the hormone estrogen. After birth, the uterus begins to react to it. Usually, the secretions are extremely meager and disappear after a short time.

A variant of the norm is the allocation of girls in the adolescent period. They must be transparent and uninvolved. No specific odor should be detected. At the age of 11-15 years, girls begin intensive preparation for the first month. A large amount of luteinizing hormone is produced. This provokes the production of "whitewash."

So why do girls have white discharge observed at the age of 5-10 years, and sometimes even earlier? In fact, there can be very many reasons for this. Pathological excretions are not considered if:

- there is a tendency to excess weight;

- the child has experienced a stressful situation;

- Insufficiency of blood circulation is revealed;

- the girl has an atopic condition;

- there is a tendency to allergies;

- Due to a long reception of antibiotics, the balance of the microflora of the vagina has been disturbed;

- the regime and nature of nutrition changed;

- Immunity reduced.

Do not panic if allocation is the result of one of these reasons. After its elimination, they pass by themselves.

Quite another case, if the allocation of girls have an unpleasant smell and yellow or even greenish color. This is direct evidence that the child develops the disease. Most often, after all the tests, the diagnosis is "vulvitis" or "vulvovaginitis." Although these similar diseases are related to gynecological diseases, they should not be confused with venereal diseases. It is inflammation of the vulvar mucosa. In many cases, the disease does not even affect the vagina. Therefore, there is no reason to be afraid to go to a pediatric gynecologist.

Vulvit develops for various reasons:

- because of the excessive sensitivity of the skin of the baby to the means of hygiene (soap, shampoo, sometimes creams);

- due to the ingress of small particles of dirt or accumulation of dead skin cells;

- the cause may be irritation from the fabric when changing or from the powder that the diapers are worn off;

- thick dark yellow discharge in girls, similar to mucus, may indicate a foreign object inside the vagina;

- if, in addition to excreta, there is an itching in the perineum, which is intensified at night, it is probably the symptoms of the presence of pinworms.

Answers to the question of why the girl has a selection, very much. To know for sure, you need to contact the pediatrician. Especially in cases where there is a suspicion that the child playing, placed a foreign object in the vagina, or if there are signs of infection with helminths. The presence of a serious infection will be indicated by thick, abundant discharge with a sharp unpleasant odor.
