What to do with a sunstroke?
The nature of the actions differs depending on the degree of sunstroke.
An easy degree is characterized by pain in the head, general malaise, nausea, rapid breathing and pulse, as well as dilated pupils. It is necessary to bring the victim into the house or put in the shade. In addition, do not forget that vomiting is dangerous, since a person can be drowned if he has lost consciousness.
Symptoms such as vomiting, intolerable headache, unsteady gait, fainting, severe adynamia, body temperature above 39 degrees and nosebleeds may indicate a moderate-degree sunstroke. With a serious degree, everything is much more serious. There is a change in skin color on the face to pale, loss of consciousness right up to coma, convulsions, hallucinations, delirium, involuntary discharge of urine and feces, body temperature above 41 degrees. The lethal outcome is from 20% to 30% of cases. Therefore, first aid for a sunstroke is so important to have time to save a person's life.
If any symptoms of sunstroke of any severity are detected, the victim should immediately be helped and seek medical help, given the fact that it is difficult to make the right diagnosis on his own.
Provision of first aid :
- Transfer the victim to a cool, non-wet room and put it down;
- Raise your legs slightly, put something under your ankles;
- to get rid of outer clothing, especially one that can squeeze the chest;
- Give the victim cold water;
- moisten the face, and better the whole body with cool water (about 20 degrees).
After the transfer of sunstroke should carefully follow the recommendations of doctors.
