What is a stroke: consequences, causes and prevention

To date, stroke is the main cause of disability or death of people. I think that I have not washed away to stop on the percentage that shows the place of stroke among the total number of diseases. For every family - this is a terrible tragedy, which does not pass without a trace. For most people, this disease causes depression, while others try to understand the problem and solve it.

Of course, one of the most acute problems is only one - "How to help a person who has had a stroke and what to do so that again it does not happen again?".

What is a stroke?

Stroke is a sudden disruption or cessation of blood supply to the brain. As a result, cell death occurs, which entails the loss of functions responsible for a group of neurons. That's why speech is lost, mobility of legs or hands disappears. Stroke consequences of which are practically irreversible, a serious disease that can lead a person to a lethal outcome. In most cases, strokes are a consequence of myocardial infarction.

Causes of stroke

The main cause of a stroke is a violation of the outflow of blood to any area of the brain. This can be facilitated by a blockage or rupture of the cerebral artery. Consider the causes of blockage of the cerebral artery.

  1. Embolism. The severed thrombus enters the arteries of the brain.
  2. Thrombosis. Education in the brain of blood clots. This usually occurs during the disease of atherosclerosis

Consider the causes of rupture of the artery.

  1. Weak walls of arteries
  2. During the disease, hypertension.
  3. Severe craniocerebral trauma

Symptoms of a stroke

Usually, the first symptoms of a beginning stroke are weakness, numbness of the body and limbs, dizziness, speech disorders, nausea, or vomiting. The resulting stroke, the consequences of which may be irreparable, is quite a dangerous disease. Therefore, if these symptoms occur, you should immediately call an "ambulance". In case of a stroke, urgent hospitalization is necessary, otherwise the consequences can lead to death. Remember, the timely provision of medical care will help prevent disability and possibly save your life.

An extensive stroke, the consequences of which are individual, is manifested by the sudden pallor of the face and with the simultaneous weakness of predominantly one half of the body. Let's look at its main symptoms: numbness of the body, confusion, poor face, difficulty in pronouncing sounds and a sharp headache. An extensive stroke, the consequences of which depend on the side of brain damage, can cause both a paralysis of one part of the body and death.

Today, a second stroke is not uncommon. Usually it occurs in people who have stopped controlling their health after the disease. In order to prevent a second stroke, the consequences of which are to destroy healthy parts of the brain, it is necessary to carry out preventive measures. Let's look at them.

Prevention of strokes

The first thing I would like to pay attention to is the daily monitoring of the pressure. Increased pressure most often leads to the development of strokes. At elevated pressure, you should consult a doctor who, after a thorough examination, will decide the appropriate treatment.

Keep your blood vessels under control

One of the diseases causing strokes is atherosclerosis. Plaques form which prevent normal blood flow, resulting in insufficient supply of blood to the brain.

Work in moderation

According to statistics, the outbreak of the disease is just at the opening of the summer season. Of course, work that brings joy, delays. But your body, unaccustomed to the winter load, can fail. It's just fine if the patient is treated for 3 hours, otherwise the person will not be saved.

Remember a repeated stroke, the consequences of which are very diverse, in 80% of cases - this is a lethal outcome. Take care of your health, take prescribed medications and take care of yourself.
