What can white flakes in the urine testify to?

In our body, the kidneys play an important role, it is a paired organ responsible for removing slags and metabolic products from the blood. In turn, urine is considered an indicator of the work of many internal organs, including kidneys. The most common method of investigation is a general urinalysis, in which the transparency, density, and pH of urine are assessed. With pathology from the internal organs in the urine, glucose, protein, erythrocytes, leukocytes, bile acids, acetone and other substances, which in normal urine should not appear, can appear.

The color of urine plays an important role in the diagnosis

Ideally, urine should be transparent, color - straw-yellow. Change in color and white flakes in the urine indicate irregularities in the work of some internal organs. Thus, urine, reminiscent of the color of meat slops, is characteristic of glomerulonephritis, and milk color - for urinary tract infections. If the urine is flakes, the cause is likely to lie in the appearance of protein in the urine, and this is a characteristic symptom of some serious diseases that require immediate diagnosis and treatment.

Diagnosis of acute urethritis

Inspection of fresh urine is a very important part of the diagnosis, and the patient must release urine into two containers. First, the first container is inspected. If there is pus, turbidity and white flakes in the urine, this indicates the presence of anterior urethritis in the patient, in other words, in this case there is an isolated lesion of the anterior part of the urethra. Most often, the cause can be a lesion of seminal vesicles, prostate, kidney and bladder. The first portion of fresh urine is sent to a clinical laboratory for general urine analysis, for studying cell elements and for the detection of Trichomonas. If there are pus and white flakes in the urine of the second dose, this means that the infection is in the back of the urethra.

Other urinary tract infections

Urine with white flakes can be observed with balanoposthitis, while the patient may have the following symptoms: increased secretion of smegma, reddening of the glans penis or swelling of the prepuce. No less common disease - inflammation of the urethra (urethritis) - has a similar symptom, namely, pain and burning when urinating, purulent discharge or white flakes in the urine. The most common cause of this disease are sexually transmitted infections.

Pyelonephritis - a serious disease

Periodically white flakes in the urine can appear with cystitis and pyelonephritis, this is most often promoted by foci of chronic infection of internal organs, diabetes mellitus, decreased immunity. Often, the development of such diseases contribute to the disturbance of urine outflow from the kidneys and urinary tract, trauma to the pelvic organs, urolithiasis, and renal blood supply disorders. To the development of pyelonephritis can lead and some instrumental studies of the genitourinary system, conducted with a violation of asepsis and antiseptics.

Causes of secondary pyelonephritis

Secondary pyelonephritis can develop on the background of a violation of urinary outflow, in particular, the cause of its development may be urethral stricture, ureteral dysfunction, kidney and bladder stones, abnormalities of kidney and ureter development, pregnancy and childbirth. According to statistics, women suffer from pyelonephritis more often than men. This is facilitated by the physiological structure of the urethra (it is much shorter than in men), as well as the proximity of the vagina. Anatomical features in children under seven also contribute to the development of the disease, due to these features, the infection has the ability to penetrate the urinary system.

Changing the color of urine, the presence of white flakes and pain when urinating is a formidable symptom that requires an immediate call to a doctor! Be vigilant: your health is in your hands!
