Why can the color of urine change?

Typically, the normal color of urine is determined from pale yellow to bright shades. It depends on the pigmentation and the concentration of urine.

An important stage in clinical research of any disease is urine analysis. One of its characteristics is the color of urine, according to which it is possible to determine what a person eats, what are his illnesses and much more.

Not always a deviation from the natural shade is a violation of health. The intake of vitamins makes the color of urine greenish, and the drinking of carrot juice provokes the coloration of urine in a bright orange color. It is also possible to change shades due to eating food containing artificial and natural dyes, as well as taking all sorts of medications. In any case, when you notice a change in the color of your urine, contact your doctor: the symptomatology can be much more serious.

So what determines the color of urine? First of all, the direct influence on it is the amount of fluid that you consume: the more it is taken in a day, the lighter the urine. Then there is a direct connection with taking medications.

As a rule, if the color of urine changes, it does not cause pain. If such arose, it may be due to the inflammatory process of the genitourinary system. Concomitant symptoms:

  1. Constant urge to urinate
  2. Frequent urination
  3. Constant fever, as well as fever and chills
  4. Pain in the abdominal cavity
  5. Sharp and unpleasant smell of urine

If the color of urine is red, pinkish or scarlet, this can be the cause of various diseases of the excretory system (especially if there is an admixture of blood).

When the urine becomes green or brownish (something similar to beer tinge), it can be a consequence of excretions of bilirubin or biliverdin (bile pigments). In this case, the foam that appears on the selection becomes yellow, not white.

Brown urine can also appear under the influence of liver disorders (hepatitis, cirrhosis), as well as acute kidney disease. Do not forget that the presence in the diet of a large amount of rhubarb, beans and aloe also provokes a change in color towards brown.

If the urine becomes bluish, this is due to the allocation of the indicator (this happens when kidney, hepatic insufficiency or suppuration develops). Also, this can be caused by an increase in the level of calcium in the blood. Also, do not exclude the use of certain medications (methindol, indocin, fenegran, etc.), as well as dyes used in medicines.

There are a number of medical reasons that cause ocular changes in the urine:

  1. Age-related causes: many men may have urine blood in 50 years due to impaired prostatic function.
  2. Often an admixture of blood in the urine is found in women, which is associated with the presence of an infection of the urinary system.
  3. The recently transferred infectious disease of the kidneys
  4. Hereditary predisposition to kidney disease
  5. Strong physical overstrain. As a result, blood in the urine can also appear

Remember that you need to urgently consult a doctor if you notice any changes in your condition and color of urine. The color of urine is not the only thing that will interest the doctor. Track your condition and be ready to answer questions that concern the number of urination, painful sensations while you are undergoing medical treatment and the quality of the food you eat.

It is important to remember that timely access to a doctor is the first step to a quick recovery!
