It is especially important to consider it for those people who have decided to tidy up their diet, make it most useful and healthy. But not always this value is explained correctly, sometimes as the nutritional value of the product is represented only by its caloric value. What does this concept mean, and how to choose the most useful products?

Nutritional value is A set of qualities of the product that are required to meet the physiological needs of man. Simply put, in a product that has high nutritional value, it contains enough essential and useful substances for a person, it is easily digested, most safe for the body, and its caloric value is comparable to its usefulness.

Immediately I will say that the correct nutritional value of the products is calculated long enough and includes many components that are complicated for simple calculation. But in order to make your diet more balanced, it is enough to take into account only a few factors. It:

  • The presence of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, necessary for your daily diet.
  • The number of calories that you just need to consider for people who want to lose weight.
  • Glycemic index of the product (GI), which indicates how well it is absorbed by the body.

You can rely on the following figures when planning your menu:

  • Usually a person needs to consume 2000-3000 calories per day, where a smaller indicator is for people who lead a predominantly quiet lifestyle, but a larger one for those with physical loads that are strong enough.
  • For a day a person needs to consume about 120 g of proteins, 500 g of carbohydrates and 80 g of fat.
  • The more GI product, the more chances to gain weight, using it.

And it is not necessary to calculate independently what the nutritional value of the products is, the table of this indicator will help you to quickly orient yourself. It usually indicates the calorie content of the product and the amount of nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, fats and others). The latter are sometimes indicated as a percentage of the daily rate. GI is not indicated everywhere, as it was not so long ago to take it into account when compiling dietary menus. But it is important enough for those who watch their figure.
