We prepare wafer tubes, as in childhood

Wafer tubules are part of the childhood of many of us. Do you remember with what desire we were waiting for their preparation, and the pleasure with which we later enjoyed eating this amazingly delicious dessert? Despite the huge number of sweets sold in the store, occasionally you still want to feel the aroma and taste of those same wafer tubules. Nothing remains, except how to cook them at home. And the most important condition is the presence of an electric waffle iron. There are several recipes for tubes, with two of which we will get acquainted today. And start with the recipe, which was attached to each Soviet wafer.

Traditional recipe for wafer tubules

We need:

  • 5 eggs;
  • Sugar (about 200 g);
  • Flour (about 1.5 cups);
  • Margarine (gram 200).

Please note that margarine must be melt, beat the eggs, add sugar and mix everything. Then gradually introduce flour. As a result, the dough should turn out to be a thick kefir. To make the wafer tubules more delicious, you can add vanillin or cinnamon to taste.

The waffle maker needs to be warmed up, lay out not her middle a tablespoon of dough and close the second half. Prepare the tubes very quickly, about a minute. After baking, they should be quickly rolled up, since if the "cake" is lying down, it will be difficult to do this.

Modern recipe for wafer tubules

We need:

  • Butter (150 g);
  • Sugar (to taste or about 100 g);
  • Potato starch (150 g);
  • Water, you can milk (0.5 cup);
  • Eggs (3 pcs.)

We soften the butter and beat it with sugar, then add yolks to the mass. In parallel, mix milk or water with starch. Proteins beat into a thick foam, add to the creamy yolk mass, there we also send divorced starch. The dough for wafer tubules should not turn very thick. Do not worry that in the test there is no flour, but instead starch. Thanks to the latter the dough for wafer tubules turns out to be more gentle. In addition, folding them will be much easier.

How to cook wafer rolls with filling

The tubes themselves are already tasty, but if you add stuffing to them, it will be twice as delicious. What to use as a filling, you can decide for yourself. But the most popular options are condensed milk and protein cream. You can add both boiled condensed milk, and plain white, whipped before it with butter.

If you decide to make a wafer with protein cream, use the following recipe. So, take 200 g of sugar and pour 100 g of water. Cook on medium heat for about 4 minutes. Proteins beat into a thick foam, and then slowly pour into our sugar syrup and continue to whisk thoroughly until the protein is cooled. Ready-made cream is filled with rolled wafer tubules.

You can also prepare a quick cream for wafer tubules, just whisking the egg whites (5 pcs.). They need to add sugar (250 g) and continue to whisk until the weight becomes very thick. You should take fresh cold proteins (from the refrigerator), as in this case they will be beaten better.
