Building

Volkovsky Theater is located in a building, built in 1909. The project, on which it was built, was created by the architect NA Spirin. Next to him Melpomena and Talia - the muse of tragedy and comedy. The opening of the new theater building took place in 1911. Stanislavsky himself sent a telegram to Volkov's drama with congratulations and wishes on this occasion.

Festivals

Volkovsky Theater is the organizer of several festivals in the field of theatrical art. One of them is spent for creative youth. He is called "The Future of Theater Russia". Here, young artists who have just graduated from high school or a specialized secondary school receive an opportunity for a professional debut. Every year in the festival involved about 400 graduates from different cities - future actors of cinema and theater. Here, lectures, master classes, creative meetings are held. Within the framework of the festival a newspaper with the title "Otsebyatina" is printed - it is published by future theater experts. Young theater artists create an exhibition of their works. The festival is also an exchange of talented individuals. Casting companies and representatives of theaters come here, thanks to which many participants receive invitations to work in the cinema and theater. The Volkovsky Theater also conducts the International Festival. His motto is "Russian drama in the languages of the world." Leading theatrical troupes of Russia and foreign countries take part in the festival.
