How to block advertising on the Internet

Modern Internet - this is not the same Network as it was ten years ago. Quite frankly, many (especially newcomers) do not even know the ideology on the basis of which the world wide web was created . Who doubts - try to open the site by the browser, configured by default, and him, but not displaying all the superfluous from the pages. It becomes obvious that you just need to figure out how to block advertising.

Owners of sites can be understood, because, placing ads on the pages, they get a tangible incentive to develop the site further. All this is true, but there are so many annoying advertisements that important information is lost among it. This is the main reason for the question of how to block advertising, set on the forums. Also, do not forget the users with nailed-byte traffic payment: they are completely counter-indicative of loading "extra" data.

There are several ways to block advertising. Their effectiveness and the final type of sites are directly dependent. In other words, you can set up filters so that everything will be blocked: both necessary and not very. This point should be taken into account when choosing a satisfactory solution.

One way to block advertising is to take advantage of the capabilities of some complex security systems (antiviruses). Here are just some of them: Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS), Zone Alarm, Outpost Security Suite. So, to use the blocking of a part of unwanted adverts on sites in KIS, you need to check the Anti-banner section (program setting). Manual entry of unwanted resources into the "black list" is allowed. Outpost settings are not less flexible: the blocking can be carried out both at the address of the source site and in the size of the image inserts. And the mentioned product Zone Alarm could remove advertising even at a time when other anti-virus systems did not even think about it. This method, which makes it easy to understand how to block pop-ups and regular advertisements, has two features: you need to install these protection systems (and they are paid), the efficiency is far from 100%.

The next way is to block unwanted content in the browsers themselves. Not so long ago the AdMuncher application was very popular. Change of focus, pop-ups, banners - all this is blocked by the program. One of its significant disadvantages is the spread on a fee basis. Although, for the sake of justice, it should be noted: there is a test 30-day period to verify the performance. But currently some users prefer to use browser extensions, for example, AdBlock.

Need ad blocking? Opera is able to do it! Launch the browser, go to the menu and open the "Extensions". On the page that opens, select the "Tools" section. Here there are plenty to choose from: NoAds, Opera AdBlock, etc. One can not doubt that a user who opens a page with extensions will choose exactly what is needed, not only the blocking of advertising. In addition, Opera has long learned to interact with pop-up windows. To configure this function, in the browser, press the combination "Ctrl + F12" and in the first tab ("Basic") select the actions to be performed when pop-up windows are detected (by default, "Block unsolicited" is active).

No less effective way is to use a local proxy server that supports the filtering of unwanted content. A vivid example - free for home users Handy Cache. In his "black list" by default, there are as many as 125 lock rules, which is quite a lot. You can recommend the following best use case: you need to use all the rules, and if possible problems with displaying checked pages, uncheck the required number of the list (indicated when the rule is blocked).
