Fencing for a garden with own hands

Every gardener aspires to grow his own vegetables in addition to the most beautiful flowers on his plot of land. Of course, planting them is not a problem, only the beds immediately take on a non-aesthetic appearance. But you want the site to be clean and well-groomed! Do not worry, you can make a fence for the garden with your own hands. It will not only look neatly on your garden, but also perform a number of useful functions.

Firstly, the garden fences prevent the growth of weeds on the sides and in the furrows, if of course they are still covered with small pebbles or other material that will not let the "uninvited guests". Secondly, weeding such beds is much more convenient, especially if they are loose. Thirdly, each year they do not need to be dig through, but only a little bit of chopping, however, in this case, beds should be prepared from autumn. Finally, the beds do not crumble and keep the shape, which means you can plant using space in the corner.

For some types (warm, bulk), you simply need a fence for the bed. With his own hands it can be built from slate, wooden boards. The first option is economical, durable and can be used more than once. Wooden fence for the garden with their own hands is quite easy to put together from almost any improvised material, but if you take poor quality wood, it will not be longevity. But if you use special impregnation, you can extend the service life.

How to make beds of such a plan yourself? First you need to decide how long you want to use them and what will be planted there. For ordinary greens, it is enough simply to make a fence for the garden with your own hands from improvised means. Suitable even for anyone already unnecessary pallets or old slate. And you can also build a decorative fence made of timber, bricks or plastic curbs.

For a high bed it is necessary to make a depression 10-15 cm. Compost, manure and other fertilizers are laid there. Then everything is covered with earth, a fence is made along the perimeter. Its thickness depends on your preferences. For example, if you make a thick fence, then you can put flowerpots, sit down during weeding or use for other needs. The width of such beds is preferably about 150 cm, and the height is about 30 cm. They should be located from east to west, and annual plants are recommended for them, because the soil in winter is too frost-free. Perennials will grow or be bad, or even die. Between the beds is maintained a fairly large distance: about a meter. This is done for convenience and beauty: usually the furrow is sown with a lawn, or covered with small pebbles. On high beds, vegetables grow particularly well, which are very fond of fertilizers. The period of use of the bed is about 7-10 years, after which it is necessary to dig out the recess again and lay a fresh fertilizer. If you spend a little time, a good harvest will be provided to you.

For the winter, any beds are good mulch: this way you will enrich the soil, and prevent the growth of weeds in late autumn and early spring, before planting. Wonderful harvest to you!
