Growing quails is a rather troublesome business. Young individuals are different from chicks of other similar species of domestic birds, for example, chickens or guinea fowl, their restlessness and excessive activity. Therefore, it can be quite problematic to provide them with constantly clean water. Consider how a drinking bowl is made for quails at home by their own hands. We use the available material, which is always on the premises, a plastic bottle.

It is especially important in the first 2-3 weeks after hatching to keep the chicks clean. To use open containers for drinking is undesirable, since, actively moving, young animals pollute water, which in a warm environment promotes the multiplication of pathogens and dangerous bacteria and microorganisms. The organization of feeding on poultry farms provides for the use of automatic mode. At home, however, poultry is often used similar homemade drinkers for quail. To make them, the most accessible material is suitable - a plastic bottle. Below are two options for rapid construction of simple devices.

The first way of making drinkers for quails with own hands from a plastic bottle

The main feature of this design is in a double layout. Prepare two identical bottles with a capacity of 1.2-1.5 liters. One of them with a sharp knife or scissors cut in half across. At the bottom, make 1-2 holes in the form of a square at a distance of 5-6 cm from the bottom. In the neck of the second bottle on one side, make a few thin holes. Then insert it inverted into the first workpiece. This construction should be strengthened at some distance from the floor with the help of a wire, wrapping it with a made drinker in two places and hanging it on the wall. The water level in the bottom bottom will automatically be kept at the same level by consuming it with chicks during drinking and filling through small holes.

The second way of manufacturing. Necessary materials

Such a drinking bowl for quails is an analogue of factory designs. Before you start, you need to purchase the main device - a special device for water supply in the form of a nipple. If you plan to produce a voluminous structure to organize the contents of a sufficiently large number of chicks, it is advisable to use a plastic container with a volume of 5 liters. Prepare to install a few nipples on it. So, the following materials for work are required:

• A plastic bottle or canister (volume from 1.2 liters to 5 liters);
• Drill and drills (their properties depend on the thickness of the surface in which you will make a hole - a bottle or canister);
• The device of water supply;
• Adhesive sealant;
• Rope or wire for hanging.

Manufacturing procedure

The device is very convenient in operation, since this drinker for quail is almost automatic. But at work it is necessary to pay special attention to fastening of nipples. There may be two options for making holes:

• Flip a large bottle or canister upside down and make several holes in it;
• Drill one hole in the cork of a small bottle.

Having screwed on a carving an iron nipple, carefully process joints that there were no gleams. Through them, there may be a leakage of water. On the side opposite to the holes, make a few holes through which pass the rope or wire for hanging.
