'Valocardin': instructions for use

"Valocardin" is a combined sedative. It is produced in the form of drops, colorless and having a strong aroma. Many people have come across this drug at least once, since the "Valocardin" instruction recommends for use in a variety of disorders.

The therapeutic effect of Valocardin is due, first of all, to the components that it contains. Thus, phenobarbital is characterized by a sedative and vasodilating effect, and additionally has a mild hypnotic effect. It reduces the excitation of the central nervous system, which contributes to the onset of natural sleep. Ethyl bromizovalerianate is characterized not only by sedation, but also by spasmolytic action. Mint oil has vasodilator activity.

Thanks to this "Valocordin" application finds a rather wide, if we consider that he does not have so many contraindications. This drug is not recommended for patients who have high sensitivity to any of the components of the drug if the patient has severe forms of impaired renal or hepatic function. During pregnancy, this medication can be used only in case of emergency and after consultation with the doctor. The same applies to the period of breastfeeding.

Since "Valocardin", the instruction to which should be carefully studied to avoid side effects, contains ethanol, with caution it is used for liver diseases, alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma.

In case of sleep disorders, it is enough to take the medicine once a day, at night, increasing the dosage to 30 drops.

In addition, to the preparation "Valokardin" instructions for use describes the side effects that may occur during treatment. Despite the fact that most often it is well tolerated even with prolonged admission, sometimes during the daytime there may be dizziness and weakness. With sensitivity to the components, an allergic reaction in the form of a skin rash may occur. If long doses are used, there is a possibility of development of conjunctivitis, rhinitis, the appearance of depressive states, apathy, violations in coordination of movements. In the event that these or other signs are observed, it is necessary to stop taking the medication and contact a specialist.

In case of an overdosage, the stomach must be rinsed. In such cases, drowsiness, dizziness, and disturbance of psychomotor reactions occur.

For the preparation "Valocardin" the instruction provides and its interaction with other medicines. It enhances the effect of other sedatives, tranquilizers and neuroleptics. Phenobarbital, part of the drops, reduces the effectiveness of oral contraceptives and glucocorticosteroids.

Simultaneous use of alcohol enhances the effect of the drug, but it increases its toxicity.
