Glycine: side effects and indications for use

"Glycine" is a drug that has a beneficial effect on metabolic processes in the human brain. It is a part of various biologically active substances, not an exception is the protein composition of body tissues. In addition, glycine is a neurotransmitter, taking a direct part in the transmission of information on nerve fibers.

Under the influence of this drug, the working capacity and mood significantly improves, which affects well the adaptation of a person in the work collective and in the family. It also has a beneficial effect on sleep, removes the effects of the effects of neurotic experiences on internal organs, the central nervous system and circulatory systems.

The drug "Glycine", whose side effects are extremely rare, is prescribed for stroke and various brain injuries, since it significantly reduces the negative consequences. It is used to treat chronic alcoholism, to restore normal brain function and to alleviate the consequences after the toxic effects of alcoholic beverages. It reduces the need for brain tissue in oxygen, thereby improving the process of memorizing new material and developing cognitive abilities.

The drug "Glycine": side effects. The use of this drug is contraindicated in the presence of individual intolerance of its components. There were no cases of drug overdose. As a side effect, allergic reactions may occur. The positive side effect of this drug is that it reduces the intensity of side effects of other drugs that have a direct effect on the central nervous system, including hypnotics and sedatives.

Allergic reactions to it occur rarely, but it can be very difficult to predict how this process will proceed. There are weak manifestations of allergic reactions in the form of rash, accompanied by itching, and there are also more severe cases, accompanied by Quinck's swelling or even anaphylactic shock. It should be borne in mind that with the continuation of the drug allergic reaction is intensified, so if an allergy to "Glycine" occurs, stop taking the drug immediately and see a doctor.

In individual cases, there may be increased drowsiness, which is accompanied by noise in the head. There is also a slight vasodilation, which provokes a severe headache. Since the drug "Glycine" (side effects of which are caused by individual intolerance) is a strong sedative, then an overdose of a state of apathy, reduced efficiency. Due to excessive suppression of the central nervous system, there may also be a slight loss of coordination and thirst.

Very cautious use of the drug should include hypotonicity, since glycine has the property of slightly lowering the level of blood pressure. This decrease leads, in turn, to weakness, dizziness, darkening in the eyes. With a decrease in pressure, complaints of heaviness in the head are possible.

Also attentive to the use of the drug should be drivers, since in individual cases, it is possible to reduce the concentration of attention and inhibition of motor reactions.

The drug "Glycine", the side effects of which appear individually, can have an adverse effect on the embryo or fetus, resulting in the development of congenital malformations. Also, the drugs taken are able to penetrate the baby's body together with the mother's milk, therefore, breastfeeding mothers should be treated with caution as well as with pregnant women.

It is undesirable to take the drug for hypotension before a long trip or before work, since even a slight decrease in pressure can lead to fainting, especially on hot summer days.

Given all the side effects, "Glycine" is a beneficially effective remedy, which, however, should be prescribed exclusively by the attending physician.
