"Urosept", candles: the instruction to the preparation

With infections of the urinary system, they designate "Urosept" - candles. Instruction for use says that this drug is actively against a variety of bacteria, including staphylococcus.

Candles are used as an auxiliary drug in the ICD and urinary tract infections. This remedy belongs to the group of quarantine-type uroantiseptics. The highest concentration of the drug is achieved three hours after admission. Approximately the same time, the maximum dose of the active substance in the urine is reached. As an active substance in candles, pipemidic acid is used.

Indication and method of application

It is used "Urosept" for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory pathologies of the urinary system. The drug is used in the following types of ailments:

• cystitis;
• Inflammation of the prostate;
• Pyelonephritis;
• Urethritis and other pathologies caused by microorganisms sensitive to pipemidic acid.

Candles are applied vaginally or rectally on a single suppository twice a day. The duration of the drug is ten days. According to the indications, the doctor can increase the daily dose to three candles divided into three doses.

Side effects

To the preparation "Urosept" (candles) the instruction says that there are practically no side effects. Only in rare cases can there be violations from the digestive system in the form of nausea, vomiting, stool disorders.

Candles from urethritis can cause an allergic reaction in the form of urticaria, Quincke's edema.

Contraindications

Medication has a number of contraindications, which the doctor takes into account when prescribing treatment. At too low a clearance (less than 10ml / min) do not designate "Urosept" (candles). The instruction also says that they can not be used for severe violations of the liver function.

Absolute contraindication to use is pregnancy in the first and third trimester. It is also forbidden to use candles in children under 16 years of age.

"Urosept" is not assigned to patients who have a history of increased sensitivity to pipemidic acid.

Warnings

During treatment, UFO should be avoided because of the increased risk of developing photosensitization. This pathology is manifested by the formation of burns of different degrees in the open areas of the body, which are located for a long time under direct sunlight.

On the recommendation of a doctor, an increase in the amount of fluid consumed under strict control of diuresis during the application of the drug "Urosept" (suppositories) may be prescribed. The instruction says that the activity of the active substances increases several times with urine alkalinization.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Data on the safety of the use of candles during pregnancy are not provided, so the use of the drug should be discarded. It is also not recommended to use "Urosept" during lactation.

Overdose

There have been no cases of overdose, but if this dosage is exceeded, there may be an increase in side effects. At occurrence of any malaise it is necessary to address immediately to the doctor for purpose or appointment of other preparation.

Preparations for cystitis in women and men are selected depending on the severity of the pathology. According to the indications, the doctor can prescribe a candle or choose a therapy with the use of tablets or drops.

Suppositories are available in contoured packages. One candle contains 0.2 g of active ingredient and solid fat as an auxiliary.

Candles are stored in a dark place at a temperature of eight to fifteen degrees of heat.

To achieve maximum effect, in addition to suppositories, other drugs that exert an active influence in the pathologies of the urinary system are prescribed.
