Types of roofs of private houses: what are the features?

Any house is crowned with a roof, and this system is one of the most important for its durable functioning. Today there are different types of roofs of private houses, so it will not be difficult to realize a certain design in your housing. When building a roofing system, it is important to take into account not only and not so much the originality of the design as the reliability.

Choosing a configuration

All existing types of roofs of private houses can be divided into two types - pitched and flat. Flat roofing in the arrangement of suburban housing is used very rarely - only in projects of houses in the style of high-tech or modern. Why? There are several reasons: a very small slope (only 3 degrees), which affects low self-cleaning of the roof, low degree of reliability, minimal design value. As a rule, such a roof justifies itself in two cases:

- if the space above it will be functionally used;

- if additional extensions are made by it, for example, a swimming pool or a winter garden.

Most often, pitched roofs of private houses are being built. When they are erected, a slope of at least 10 degrees is ensured, while it is easy to take care of them, they are more reliable, there is the possibility of organizing an attic or an attic space, and there are plenty of opportunities for using designer delights. On the other hand, this option will cost more, since more materials will be needed to implement it. And the rafter system itself will be built a little more difficult.

Types of roofs of private houses with slopes:

  1. One-pitched roofing is the simplest in terms of erection. This is a flat construction that rests on external load-bearing structures of different heights. Such a roofing system is built quickly and is cheap, but it is too simple, it does not have raisins, and therefore build it mainly for household buildings or garages.
  2. The gable roof is the most popular, its second name is gable. This is the classic of construction: in this design, two skates are connected to each other with the help of a ridge. The skates can be arranged symmetrically, and can have different angles of slope. As a rule, the space between them is equipped with an attic or an attic. Such a roof is a combination of practicality, simplicity and functionality.
  3. More complex types of attic roofs of private houses are hip ones, in which triangular slopes are left in the zone of pediments. Such designs are massive, impressive, highly reliable and resistant to various influences.
  4. Effectively looks and a hipped roof, consisting of four or more rays, which converge at the top. The skate in such a roofing system is not, at the same time it looks neat and symmetrical. Most often, such a roof is erected on structures that have a regular shape. By the way, this is the most optimal option, if you want to realize some interesting design idea.
  5. Another difficult option is a broken roof. Its peculiarity is that the attic or attic space will be spacious.

Equally impressive are the combined roofs of private houses. A photo Show that the more interesting the roofing system is made, the more spectacular the exterior will look. And if you arrange it with balconies, luccarnas and other architectural elements, the roof design will be harmonious and attractive.
