Treatment papilomo virus infection: when it is necessary

Human papillomavirus is a very common phenomenon, and the vast majority of the world's population is its carriers. In most cases, this virus does not pose a threat to its carrier, and its only manifestation can be only skin outgrowths of one form or another located on different parts of the body. They usually appear only after a short time after infection and soon pass, but can occur again with a decrease in immunity. Sometimes such infection can be asymptomatic.

In most cases, the treatment of papillomato virus infection is not required, and one can confine oneself to simtomatic treatment, that is, the removal of warts, but some of its variants are very likely to cause cancer, and then antiviral treatment is highly desirable. First of all, it concerns those strains of papillomavirus that are transmitted sexually, namely, two of them. Since these viruses can cause a disease like cervical cancer, the overwhelming number of people who seek antiviral treatment are women. Nevertheless, the treatment of papilomo virus infection needs to be passed not only to them, but also to their partners, since it is certain that they will also find themselves in the examination, and, being carriers, they will certainly re-infect their partner.

Especially dangerous is the situation during pregnancy: in principle, pregnancy and papilomo virus infection - there is nothing terrible in this, but only if the woman does not have genital warts. If they are, then the risk of transmission of infection to the child during childbirth is large enough, and the baby's respiratory tract and genital organs may be affected. During pregnancy, the risk of their occurrence is large enough, as the woman's immunity decreases. Treatment papilomo virus infection during pregnancy is impossible because it takes the strongest antiviral drugs that can harm the baby. In critical cases, treatment is possible after 28 weeks of pregnancy, when the child has already formed all the organs, and it is almost impossible to harm him. In most cases, the treatment of papilomo virus infection during pregnancy is not performed, but procedures for the removal of genital warts from the birth canals are prescribed.

Before treating, papilomo virus infection should be differentiated, because most of its varieties for human health are still not dangerous, and the strongest drugs, on the contrary, can harm the body. It is advisable to treat only oncogenic strains. Also, the treatment of papillomavirus infection can occur when a person for one reason or another is denied immunity, and the presence of even such a minor infection in the body can be an excessive burden for him, for example, with AIDS or radiation sickness, as well as in a number Oncological diseases and the rehabilitation period after complex operations.

Currently, there is an effective vaccine for the prevention of oncogenic papillomavirus infections. In many countries, this vaccination is included in the compulsory list of girls of secondary school age. She is unofficially called a vaccine against cervical cancer, and there are good reasons for that. It is very important to make such a vaccine before the onset of sexual activity, otherwise it will be useless - in case the infection is already in the body. In this case, you must first take a course of antiviral therapy, and only then do this inoculation. In our country, such a vaccination is still on a paid basis, but in the future it may be included in the list of services covered by the health insurance policy.
