His strength was highly valued in the village, because only his body took the DNA of the first hokage. These experiments with genes on it set Orochimaru, who in early years kidnapped the boy. Kakashi freed him from captivity, after which he was taken to a special detachment of the ANBU of the village hidden in a sheet.

The first appearance and connection with the main character

Yamato and Naruto first met when the first was appointed temporary captain instead of wounded Kakashi-sensei. The main reason for this was wood technology, which could restrain and seal the strength of the Nine-Tailed Demon-fox. This beast lived inside the main character and at that time he could not control it. Together with Sakura Naruto and Yamato went to the country of the Grass, where according to the intelligence reports, Orochimaru and Sasuke Uchiha, marked by a damned seal, were hiding. For a long time they pursued a detachment of sanin until they found his refuge and did not get there. There, the former members of the seventh team began talking about duty and honor, which greatly exasperated Naruto. Yamato at that time helped to contain the demon's force, which had escaped to freedom, and sealed it back into the hero's body. After that, friendly relations arose between the boy and the mentor. Naruto often went to him for advice, while Kakashi was treated in the hospital. Yamato was a pupil of the "copy ninja", and therefore gave good advice from himself and from the direct teacher of the protagonist.
