Alexander Aleksandrovich himself, recalling his childhood, says that he was a simple Moscow hooligan. But, perhaps, he just cunning. According to his mother, Shura was a homebody. And in this he is like his father. In an interview, Alexander Lazarev tells how parents in the ninth grade learned that he smokes. For them it was just a shock. They sat in the kitchen, dangling their heads, and almost wept. Shura remembers that long conversation with his parents, after which he quit smoking.

Often, not to take a small child with him on tour, he was sent to a kindergarten in Evpatoria. But the boy did not stay alone for long. My father tried to spend every free day with his son.

At school Alexander was not a diligent student. His father was often summoned to the director. In 1979, a 12-year-old boy played a small role in the play of the Mayakovsky Theater, than finally convinced himself and his parents in choosing their profession.
