Pemphigus is a plant that has become a predator

Today even the schoolboy heard about the existence of special carnivorous plants that grow in dry soil, poor in nutrients, and who hunt insects and small animals. In the world there were about 450 species of carnivorous plants existing due to hunting; They do not have a single habitat. Predatory plants can be found in the most diverse corners of our planet. Biologists are accustomed to calling them "insectivorous", since the main food of such plants is small insects.

Science knows five adaptations by which insectivorous plants extract food. It can be hunting leaves, shaped like a jug, sticky traps, slamming leaves, sucking traps, as well as trap-ranches. Typically, getting into one of these devices, the insect drowns in the special digestive juice of the plant, and the leaf surface carefully absorbs the necessary nutrients obtained from the caught insect. As a bait, an insectivorous plant uses a bright color or a special attracting aroma, deceiving prey.

The fastest insectivorous plant is pemphigus. The plant captures its prey in half a millisecond. His prey is small insects and crustaceans, which are close to a murderous trap. The pomaginus usually lives in the subtropics, tropics and temperate latitudes of Europe and North America, growing in fresh water bodies and on moist soil. This water carnivorous plant floats on the surface of the reservoir, not having roots. Pemphigus is a plant with a long branching stalk and dissected leaves. Golden-yellow flowers rise above the water with a stiff floral arrow. Brownish-green, repeatedly cut leaves can reach up to 8 centimeters in length.

On the leaf blade of the pancreas is a small rounded vial, with the help of which the plant produces its own food. This vial is surrounded by special hairs, covered with mucus, luring prey. From such a trap water is pumped, so that the pressure in the bubbles is lowered. When aquatic organisms touch hairs, the walls of the vesicle expand and absorb the captured creature. Due to a significant difference in pressures, production falls into the pemphigus instantaneously, so this insectivore is the fastest predator on the planet. To digest food pemphigus uses organic acids and peptides. Each vial is capable of catching new prey many times throughout life.

Pemphigus is a plant that flower growers like to use to decorate water bodies. Bright yellow flowers attract the attention of many landscape designers. But this plant does not take root in hard water, so to decorate your pond with this marvelous tropical predator, you must carefully take care of the state of water. Pemphigus can grow from spring to autumn, and with the onset of cold weather, its kidneys are stored in a vessel with cool water. In spring, these buds are blossoming again to please their masters with exotic beauty.

Some varieties of pemphigus - for example, humpback bladder, - are often used to decorate aquariums. Humpback pemphigus is a plant that forms a thicket that many owners of aquariums like. But we must remember that pemphigus is primarily a predator, which can be dangerous for small fry.

Pemphigus is called dermatological diseases. Leafiform pemphigus is a common skin disease that has nothing to do with a pemphigus plant. This fact may seem insulting to many lovers of neat golden colors. In both cases, the name "pemphigus" was formed from the usual word "bubble", through which this extraordinary plant produces food for itself.
