Why did the movie "Andalusian Dog" evoke aesthetic shock?

The surest example of surreal cinema - the film "Andalusian dog" - simply "explodes the brain" when viewed. It seems that this is a challenge not only to personal perception, but to all logic that strictly defines our human consciousness. Perhaps the ordinary spectator, the same as the author of this publication, because of the limited perception or generally accepted intellectual cliches that are formed in society, culture, can not appreciate all the author's message, intent. But the fact that it's worth watching this picture is unambiguous. Personally, my mind, bound by the limited scope of the existing insignificant life experience, constantly repeated during the viewing, rather screamed: "What kind of nonsense?". And the subconscious, eagerly listening to the hidden meaning, whispered: "Delightful!". While watching the movie "Andalusian dog" to break away from what is happening on the screen is impossible. Even the famous initial episode - the cutting of the eye, during which the female face turns into a dog face, does not frighten, does not cause disgust and desire to immediately stop viewing. Watching the film further, I could not catch at least a weak logical chain linking what was going on together. And then, remembering the dream-like character of the film's images, I got a "Dream Book".

A film without a storyline

In this short film of the story line, in the usual sense for us, there is not, although there is something remotely reminiscent of the script, was by Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali. "Andalusian dog" - pure water surrealism, in which every spectator can find or think up something of his own. The only thing I can say is that if the first part of the film can still be tied up somehow, then the second part can only be observed, it is simply unreal to link the events on the screen into one whole. Here, and remember Bunuel, who was equally contemptuous of those who were indignant at his creation, and to those whom it madly admired.
