The College of the SSSU Razumovsky was founded in the second half of the 20th century. The reason for the appearance of this specialized institution was the shortage of mid-level medical personnel.

Many sign SSMU. The college is the result of the work of the rector of the medical institute NR Ivanov and the chief physician of the Saratov clinical hospital, LG Gorchakova.

At first there was only one nursing department, where only sixty people were trained.

In 1967, the College of Medical Diagnostics was enlarged with a department of laboratory diagnostics. The SSSU has a unique base for conducting clinical trials.

Throughout the entire period of the existence of this institution, it has undergone a number of large-scale transformations. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, SSSU survived. The college also did not cease to exist. Here they began to open new branches. They fully met all the requirements of the modern labor market.

In 1995, the branch "Orthopedic Stomatology" appeared, and in 1997 the direction "Pharmacy" was opened.

SGMU, college at the university are familiar to Saratov schoolchildren. Close cooperation with general schools of the city is established. For 15 years, special medical and biological classes have been functioning in the college, in which students can receive specialized knowledge in chemistry, biology, pupils of grades 8-11.

After the reform of the Russian health care system, SSSU has changed, and the college has also been modified. He acquired a department of postgraduate education, advanced training of mid-level medical specialists. In 2001, the medical college received the status of a structural unit of the Saratov Medical University named after V. I. Razumovsky.
