Pump rifle MP-133: reviews (photos)

MR-133 is a pump-type shotgun manufactured by the Izhevsk plant, intended for hunting, self-defense and law enforcement. This shotgun was developed on the basis of the famous IZH-81 model. Serially, the MR-133 has been produced since 2000.

Description

This pump-shot shotgun feeds cartridges from a tubular under-barrel magazine. Thanks to the moving target, the weapons are recharged. The MP-133, unlike the IZH-81, has two thrusts, and not one, which has a positive effect on the smoothness of recharging and backlash of the forehead. The push-button fuse is located behind the trigger, on the trigger guard. When turned on, it blocks the movement of the hook. After consuming all the cartridges from the magazine, the bolt at the gun becomes at the gate delay (the disconnect button is directly in front of the trigger). On the receiver, on the right side, is a button for intercepting cartridges. It is necessary to retrieve a cartridge from the store, the next one without automatic sending. The forebar and the stock of the MR-133 are either plastic or wooden (walnut, birch or beech). In the version with wood there is a version with a pistol grip. In models with plastic trim, there are modifications to which it is installed - from the Kalashnikov assault rifles of the hundredth series - the butt is folding. MP-133 also allows the use of a number of special permanent and replaceable muzzle attachments. In addition, you can use a magazine extension, increasing its capacity by two cartridges.

Specifications

This smooth-bore pomp gun is produced with a 12-gauge barrel. For shooting, hunting cartridges are used, as well as special ammunition, which are collected in sleeves 76 and 89 mm long. The capacity of the magazine without an extension cord is four cartridges for 76-mm and three cartridges for 89-mm cartridges. The trunk MP-133 has, depending on the modification, the following dimensions: 510, 540, 610, 660, 710 and 750 mm. The length of the gun with the maximum barrel is 1280 mm. The weight of the weapon is quite moderate - 3.3 kg. The aiming part, also depending on the model, can be of two types: a ventilated aiming bar or a crescent and a fly. The following replaceable muzzle caps are used: C, IC, IM, M, F, XF.

Is the future for pomp guns?

Shotguns, in which reloading is carried out by a movable forearm, it is difficult to call these days the traditional weapon of domestic hunters. By the beginning of the 21st century, shotguns were able to gain some popularity among our citizens as a means of self-defense. This type of rifles became widely known thanks to Hollywood militants, in which pomp and floggers were flogged to the right and to the left as gangsters and employees of various special forces and security structures. And the appearance of domestic analogues of such weapons (and inexpensive, if compared with imported guns) made it possible to look at a completely different angle to a pump shotgun.

Design tasks

Multiple-charge hunting rifles were always the most attractive for both professional fishermen and amateur hunters. This task was solved in various ways: by the presence of two or more trunks, automatic recharging, manual recharging by the method of reversible forehead motion along the axis of the barrel, using a cartridge turret of the revolver type, etc. Each of these principles is represented to some extent by successful and not very models Hunting rifles. And it is to successful we can refer to the MP-133 we are considering. This model justly deserved a lot of positive feedback from its owners, both within our country and abroad.

Compare the pump shotgun with other hunting rifles

The advantage of the MP-133 shotgun before the hunting weapons of other classes is determined by the specific conditions of its operation. The very simple design of this model makes it easy to care for it, even in the field, as well as the possibility of continued use without cleaning the mechanisms at all. The manual recharging method removes any requirements for the powder charge, the long chamber allows the use of absolutely any ammunition of the 12th caliber, including those that are equipped with the reuse of the spent cartridges. The risk of losing fired casings is minimal, since their release time and direction are fully controlled by the shooter. As we have already said, this gun has a weight of 3.3 kg; On this parameter it favorably differs from the majority of multiply-hunted hunting models, which have a mass of 4 kg and higher. Finally, the durability, reliability and strength of the MP-133, as well as excellent performance, combined with an affordable price, make this weapon the preferred one in situations where a long-term autonomous existence is required , especially under extreme conditions.

MR-133: owner feedback

If we summarize the responses of the owners of the domestic pump shotgun MP-133, then we can distinguish three main criteria that characterize this model: reliability, multi-charge, price. Even after several years of operation, this gun shows itself in the best possible way: it perfectly shoots like factory ammunition, and self-propelled guns, like lead shot, and brass, and steel. However, the owners also note this feature: people with a growth below the average is difficult to shoot offhand (because of the position of the forearm). Below are the pros and cons of this model.

Advantages

The advantages of the weapon in question include: high reliability, the ability to install various additional equipment (collimator, DTC, flashlight), a unique system of gate delay, use of any cartridges, except for "Super Magnum". In addition, the presence of thread in the barrel allows the use of muzzle brake-compensator, stem extensions and interchangeable chokes. Models with automatic butt allow you to carry accessories in a special case, so you can disassemble and clean weapons in the field. In addition, in the arms stores there is a huge selection of spare parts for this rifle, although it practically does not break. However, if necessary, you will not have any problems with replacing, say, a springing fighting spring.

disadvantages

1. Big weight, compared to a classic double-barreled, especially with an enlarged magazine. Although if compared with automatic rifles, then this model is profitable from them is different. In fact, in the weight category, the MP-133 occupies an average position.

2. Models with an automatic butt have a strong and painful return, so they require the installation of an additional rubber backplate. Recharging this weapon requires skill. Shooting with Magnum cartridges is very tiring, after a series of shots (from 10), ears start to ache and teeth whine, it is recommended to use headphones.

3. Little informational documentation, for example, the mechanism of the gate delay is completely not painted.

4. After purchase it is required to carry out self-polishing of internal parts.

Conclusion

As they say, men never grow up, that's why they spend their whole lives playing with toys, only with age their hobbies become more and more expensive. And what kind of boy does not like weapons? Here are the grown-up children and choose their own hobbies related to shooting: paintball, airsoft, hunting and so on. The MP-133 gun is an excellent choice for a man, for it is universal. You can take it with you on a long journey, to the country, to hike or rafting. Pump shotgun can be used not only for hunting, but also for self-defense, it is for these purposes that they are often purchased by truckers.
